yes, correctional officers have to follow groming standards addressed in the facility operations manual. hair has to be cut above the ear and not to touch the colar of your shirt. you are allowed to have a mustache but, it cannot go beyond the corner of your mouth. exceptions are made in the cases of medical conditions but, documentation is required.

Ghost could'nt have hit it any closer to the head, the standards are pretty strict but fairly easy to adapt to, tattoos are fine below the neck, and it's reccomended that since you wear both long and short sleeve uniforms depending on weather, etc. that tattoos on the arms don't extend lower than your short sleeves will, they tend to frown upon stuff like that, as far as grooming, no mutton chops, no goatees, no beards, short mustaches extending no lower than the corner of the lips, no jewelry, that includes piercings both visible and not. They want somemone who dresses up well, keep that in mind when showing up for your interview. dress for the occasion. and if possible groom your facial hair ahead of time so they are'nt just guessing if you'll clean up well or still be a mess. as much as you can say "they cant discriminate like that" guess again, they can do whatever they want to. Just think ahead of time.
