dgeorge in Fayetteville, North Carolina said: Does anyone have any recruiter contacts for Fluor in water purification? I worked for KBR and just got home in May 2010. It is rough out here trying to find employment. I have a wife and two children,so stress is setting in. There isn't direct contact with any recruiters, you have to apply online. Make sure your resume is as good as it can be, if you can't write a good one, pay someone who can. I know times are tough and spending money is tough, but it may pay off for you. The rumor here is that Fluor has to many people on the ground already, a buddy just came through Bagram and said they are everywhere, just waiting for a site to go to. Good Luck. |

Thanks...I have applied to all water treatment jobs and laboratory analyst positions in my resume seems highly qualifiable...I guess its keeping my fingers crossed...Kinda wish there was another way to make it happen... |

All I can tell everyone is that if you are an Expat, you are very unlikely to get a job here. I currently work for Fluor and will probably lose my job at the end of my contract, as will most of the other expats. They were required to hire everyone from Transition but will cut them after the year. They are already replacing Food Service personel with folks from the Balkans. It's the whole 80%-20% staffing rule. I didn't believe it but is becoming apparent. The reason Fluor won the North is because they had the lowest payroll numbers. They will hire mostly OCN's, PPI, APS, etc. They are getting rid of people through medical and pushing people to DEMOB. Oh well.............. |

You may want to have someone take a second look at your resume, it never hurts to have another set of eyes. I know they generally need ROWPU and waste water guys. We treat every drop of water coming into the bases or from the ground and every ounce of crap leaving them. |

I know a manager that works for flour and he said the same thing. They are trying to save money by hiring the locals over there instead of people from the states. They pay then a fraction of what they pay Americans. |

Ya'll might want to check out Dyncorp as well, we got some crane op jobs in Kuwait, Oman, Afghanistan, and some other places. I'm in Afghanistan now and we are still hiring expat operators. Also, you might want to pay someone to do the resume thing, It will greatly enhance your chances of getting picked...Good luck! |
