I am a biologist with 8 years of data analytics experience using both SAS and R. I have SQL querying capabilities. However my resume says "Biologist" and my training has been rather informal (no statistics degree, but grad courses and workshops and mostly self-taught). I've been trying to get into data analytics positions and so far had many close-calls (second interviews etc) but never an offer mostly because I don't have the official credentials or that I don't have much industry experience.
Any suggestions on how I can jump out of this rut? How do I get industry experience? I'm willing to do internships and things like that just to prove to them that I've got what it takes.
