I have been decking for about 5 years now and am currently employed. Although I completed the course work to become a captain, I can not find a job to get my time as a steersman. If anyone knows any companies hiring for steersmen work, I would appreciate the tip greatly. Thanks

My name is Irvin Bang, I am 30 years old, in very good health. I have never smoked, drank, or done any kinda drugs. I have been around and on boats all my life even as a kid. I have my TWIC card. I Have been working on Tugs Western Rivers, Inland, Near Coastal. I have worked on many different Tonnage Vessels Ranging from the smallest at 46 Ton to the largest at 198 Ton. I have went to school once before for my 100 Ton and passed but never finished the paper work for the Coast Guard. Im scheduled in about 4 months to go and take the apprentice mate steersman class at Young's Memorial. I have more than enough sea time to get my 200 Ton Masters and my Towing Endorsement. Inland Marine (not kirby inland marine) is crewing up 6 boats. Might have some luck with them for deckhand positions. There not a bad company to work for. Google them and i would hurry if i were you! Deckhand jobs get snatched up quick these days!

hate to bust your bubble but i went through them to get my safe gulf card and payed tomasmarine the 19 dollors to help me find job but in fact that 19 dollors is for 24 hours and after that u must pay again so i would leave them alone and marine consultants the would not return my phone calls but do what you thinks best sighned eddie

I had a list of about 25 crewboat companies list on this site. I guess someone or company didn't like that because no one "had" to pay for the info. I'll list them again in a few days. Company name and phone numbers and the best thing of all...........ITS FREE!!!!

I need work. I am a very hard worker. I dont drink or use drugs. I dont smoke but I do dip. I am an intelligent man with a strong back and I am very willing to work hard. hello my name Roger Mercado (CADO) , i am prior service navy , i worked on a boat for 7 years and a machinist mate , unfortunately the military did not give any licencing towards any field
other than hydraulics , iam looking for a starting position or deckhand and i am waiting to hear from the uscg about a q-med license as entry level engine room mechanic . i have a TWIC card but i do not have a drivers license due to some minor tickets , wich is wahy i need a better paying job . please help a salty veteran who wants t be back aboard a ship , willing to travel anywhere near the gulf of mexico , galveston, louisiana, pt author , lake charles or even further
