sorry my husband works for them and you can't have a felony,try gettingf it expunged...

Your felony has to be at least 7 yrs old to obtain a twic card in order to work on a boat try Ingram Barge or American Commericial Lines.

You will have to undergo an extensive background check:

The company will run one.

You will need a TWIC, so TSA will run one (YES, they will find it!).

If you stay in the business and want to become a captain, the USCG will check and find it as well.

If it's a drug felony, just forget about working on boats and in ports. Best to find another line of work. Same goes for any type of violent felony.

Anyways, there's a glut of people out of work and the companies can pick and choose. And the new regs about Homeland Security are making very hard for those with records to find employment.

inland marine will hire you with a felony... ingram wont..... inland marine just operates ingram boats for them.....
