The question is "a store owner confronts you saying you delivered the wrong product, or he wants to send back old/outdated merchandise for a refund, what do you do".

Know the policies for your company. If you are allowed to return merchandise do so if not give the store owner the correct procedure.
If he has called the order in to the company you can always check with dispatch
to find out the procedure since most companies have deliveries and pick up dispatche to certain drivers you would not want to botch dispatching plans. All goes back to company policy and communication
