What are typical delivery driver salaries? Do some companies pay a lot more for this position than others? What does a top earner make in this field?

What skills should you learn to increase your salary?

As a pizza delivery driver, I make minimum wage ($6.95 in Ohio) plus tips, plus a per-delivery reimbursement towards gas & auto maintenance.

The reimbursement is currently $0.95.

I average 2 deliveries per hour and $2 per tip, but this will vary greatly depending on your particular delivery area and restaurant.

KevinL, do you work for a national chain, or ma-pop shop? I ask, because since Ohio State Minimum Wage increase, my ma-pa shop decided to declare us 'tipped employees'; hence, I'm still at $5.15/hr. TIA

I'm at one of the big 3, and I'm just about 40 minutes from you, near Elyria.

How much of your time is spent earning tips? Our drivers do ALOT of prep work and dishes ... I don't think they could get away with giving us the "tipped" minimum.

well, some companies promise you 800 a week, but they don't pay your gas, so it is possible you will spend 200 just in gas by week , so you gonna make only 600 less taxes. More you drive no necesarly more money you make, but you more gas spend. It depends what companies you are working for. Other companies make you drive 300 miles everyday. So do numbers who's taking your earnings.

When I was a delivery Driver for Papa Johns I was only making 5.25 an hour plus tips... I would usually take home anywhere between 40 and 100 dollars a night depending on how many deliveries I made, and that included 1.10 for delivery fee
