Hello! I've been thinking about getting into the Dental Assisting field. I had a working interview with a Dental office that ended up lasting 2 weeks that I really enjoyed. I ended up not getting hired because they made the decision they wanted someone certified. So I was wondering, if anybody could give me some advice in which school to go to in the Colorado Springs, or surrounding areas, or even and online one that is credible and looks well on an application. And any other advice or information would be greatly appreciated. Thank you for your time,

I took the Penn Foster assisting program (online) and it was great, very affordable, though it doesn't teach much in the way of computer/office systems. To be "certified" however, you would need to check your state regulations - some states require x-ray exams to be taken through the state, seperate from any other schooling. Good luck! |

HI! I am currently in the Dental Assisting program at Pikes Peak community college and love it. It is very affordable, the teachers are very knowledgable, and the program is accredited by the American Dental Association. In order to become Certified, you have to take a national board test called the DANB (dental assisting national boards). You want to look for a program that is accredited by the American Dental Asso. if you want to get your national certification. |
