Do you think their is much difference in salary for
CDA vs.COA?? What are your thoughts on this?...

No not really. You'll just be certified as an ortho assistant or certified dental assistant. I would suggest taking the exam for CDA just in case you were tired of ortho (if you haven't already taken the exam).

Hi Gabrianna,
My personal experience with significant salary increases came once I attained my first certification (CDA) and then increased again when I added my second (COA). Of course difference in salary between the two certifications also depends on the doctor you work for and what kind of opportunities you have available in your office. Keep in mind that with each certification, you have a required number of CE's per year to maintain that certification. That in itself serves to prove your committment to the profession and in turn increases your value to the dental team!
