How many of you have participated in this survey? I did and it seems someone is FINALLY listenimg to the problems facing dental hygienist across the nation. I think the survey could have asked more question to ascertain what RDH's are facing. But overall I think it was a good survey. Your thoughts????? |

I did not take the survey but as the owner of Dental Personnel Placement Service, Inc at: www.dental-placement.com I can tell you that it is very slow for dental candidates right now. It has been 10 years that DPPS, Inc. has been providing placements for the dental community and it has never been this slow. I have been a RDH for the past 21 years and a DA prior for 10 and this is the worse I have ever seen it. Lets keep our fingers crossed it gets better very soon! If anyone needs help in Illinois please feel free to contact DPPS, Inc or visit the DPPS website for jobs and dental news. |

Thank-you for posting the link. I just finished the survey. I have been out of work for 6 months and was driving 75 miles one way for that job. There have not been any jobs in my area for at least 5 years. |

PS I agree with you, the questions were limited and I could have elaborated quite a bit more than they asked for. I'm just happy to see something! |

I just hope we start seeing more professional associations stepping up and doing something about this problem facing the dental hygiene profession. I did elaborate tremendously where it allowed it. |

So did I, especially at the end. I would like to belong to the ADHA but with no job and only part-time when I do have one, I cannot afford it. Hopefully if enough of us continue to speak up and voice our concerns, we will be heard and action will be taken that can protect our profession. |

I agree I cant afford to belong to the ADHA being out of work as long as I have.
