Hard Times Charlie said: There seems to to be an attitude that I don't know where you are in the U.S., but if you are unable to receive affordable dental treatment in a private practice, try contacting a Dental School in the area for ie-fillings,etc. and/or a Dental Hygiene School for a prophy (cleaning, x-rays, flouride tx, etc.). At these schools you will find it is very affordable, but you have to realize you may spend alot more time in the chair due to the student being graded on the treatment given. Good luck! |

Your points are well taken. Voice your concerns to your dentist. Write your senator and state representative. Also, don't go to a dentist that is "a fee for service practice". They charge higher prices. Ask for payment plans or ask if they offer Care Credit, a no or low interest plan, and you have the right to also ask what is reasonable and customary for the fee of the service. Call other offices and compare prices to get an idea how high the fee really is. The dental school is an excellent suggestion too. I have gone there myself. Good luck. |
