Bak in York, Ontario said: I am a new graduated dental hygienist, living in Toronto.I like to work for government.I searched that school board and military not hiring now. Most private practices concern about my experience. But If somebody won't hire me how can I get experience?currently, I work in a store ,part time with minimum wage. I am very flexible for hours and rates.I would like to work as a volunteer in public health area,I do not like to lose my skill. Can anybody help me to find a job? Thanks in advance. hi beth, i am in your shoes as well. i moved out to washington state over 9 years ago and had to take classes for restorative, and anesthesia and nitrous oxide just to take the WREB and pass it. the nice thing is WA state gives an 18 month temp.license so you can get all that stuff done and work as well. i successfully passed and practiced in WA state for 5 years then took a job for the military in germany for 3 years and returned to WA state and a poor economy. i just relocated to CA state and because my original DH program did not have anesthesia i now have to take 3 classes in soft tissue curretage, anesthesia and nitrous to become licensed in the state of CA. so i am enrolled for the classes offered only 2 times a year and i am studying. my suggestion to you is contact the nevada dental board and see what you can and cannot do while you are getting those classes out of the way to take the exam and get licensed in nevada. in the mean time you can go onto www.usajobs.com and check out federal jobs that will take your active license from any state. this includes, indian health, prisons, and military. also this may mean that you will have to relocate to where the job is but better then struggling. i have found that WA state has the most DH schools then any other state and are actively graduating people every year in this field but there are less and less jobs out there accross alot of states. i hope this helps God bless geri |

Hello Girls
Geri... I would absolutely LOVE to work in Germany... I spent 3 years working in New Zealand and loved it and just returned from a trip with my daughter to England and Italy... kept saying I must find a job in Europe. She went to Germany and loved it there. Would you mind sharing with me some of your experiences of what it was like, the technology, do you need to speak the language, pay scale, how to get hired, where to look for work, etc. Thank You. Corinne |

It is getting extremely difficult to get a government position unless you're a military veteran, or the spouse of a veteran. If you want to get experience and keep your skills up, try volunteering with the Red Cross, or with an organization like Doctors Without Borders .... (I know that there is one that focuses on providing dental services, I just can't remember the name.) |

I am interested in working there for a year or two and wondering the process to take, and to also hear feedback! Thank you :) |

This is some great information about this site. I agree and will let others know so that they can post as well. Love it, will be back and see what others have to say as well. |

Hi, I have been searching USAJOBS.GOV for any type of government RDH career for the past year. Other than (1) job posting for a position without relocating, I have had extreme difficulty. Does anyone know any other search/sites I can use to help land a government job? |
