Good luck, there are no jobs here at all right now, and things are going to get worse with the economy. If you are thinking about moving here for work I would rethink your decision. Sorry. |

Try the temp agency; KDM International (kdmdental.com), and the Calgary Sun and/or Herald work section. If you have trouble that route, I'd just send out resumes to clinics close to where you live, if you want a job close to home. Work in dh isn't that hard to find, moreso it's difficult to find a clinic you'll like in the sense that it's perio oriented!! |

There are not many jobs in Alberta for Dental Hygienists. The markets here have been flooded with graduates from other provinces and these numerous private schools. The U of A graduates Dental Hygienists to adequately keep the balance of job opportunities to new graduates. |

I also have a dental assisting certificate and its not helping. I cant even get any temping jobs. The temp agencies have told me that the market is saturated with hygienists at this time due to all of the people moving here from ontario. I highly suggest not moving here unless you can find a job here before you move! |

There are next to no jobs available here due to the huge influx of Ontario grads. Anyone who thinks this isn't an issue is delusional.

Does anyone know the average hourly pay for a hygienist in Alberta? I am moving at the end of summer to Edmonton and want to get an idea of what to ask for. I don't want to lower the wage and work for less. |
