What do you enjoy most about being a desktop support technician? What do you dislike the most? Is it challenging? Are there many opportunities to learn and advance? What keeps you at your job? |

DST can be quite rewarding, but like anything else, it has Pros and Cons, the aspect I personally enjoy the most is the face to face interactions with users and the satisfaction I get when I can solve the issue, educate the user "briefly" to prevent re-occurrences, basically, Customer Satisfaction. Now the Cons, it's a very unpredictable work environment, no comfort zones here, you constantly being challenged, not by your work, but by your peers, lots of pressures to climb the perceived IT Ladder (Often without understanding current responsibilities) into Management, Network or System Admins to CIOs. Opportunities to advance as you learn more advanced skill are definitely available, no limits here. Good Luck. |
