Hello guys, I have an International 4700 DT466E. At certain times the orange water/oil indicator lights and there is no throttle response !!! It just idles. There is no conection with the throttle and engine. If you shut it off and start it back up, it works fine. What do you guys think it could be ? Maybe some kind of throttle sensor ? Thanks in advance. |

greekviking in Little Neck, New York said: Hello guys, Replaced the cam sensor...did not fix this problem. Checked oil pressure sensor and got a 30 psi at idle and a 50 psi at 2300 rpms. Do you think it could be the oil pumps not building enough pressure? If so, do I have to change the upper and lower together ? The motor has 156,000 miles. |

david cadrain in Rocky Mountain House, Alberta said: I have a 1995 international that i put a rebuid 466e in has only 500 hour .on a cold start it does not get oil pressure 45_90 sec what shoud i look for .the longer it down the longer it takes to pick up oil . Does the engine crank and start up immediately or does it take 45-90 secods to start? Before starting in he morning remove oil tempreture sensor in the cover and see if the oil is coming out the sensor, if theres no oil coming out of the cover then the pick up tubue can be cracked and broken. When you had the engine rebulit did you have it inspectered or replaced, but when you rebulid it you should replace. |

I'm working on a 2007 International with a 466E motor. It runs rough and blows black smoke when you accelerate. I checked the turbo accumulator and it seemed to be working fine. I checked the exhaust back pressure switch and when I probe the lower two wires together it runs great. I bought a new back pressure switch and it still runs bad. I'm not getting any codes. I'm wondering if I have a ground problem or could another sensor be out? Any ideas? |

I just bought a 1991 International 4900. Drove it from Pittsburg to Western North Carolina. When I drove it the next time the odometer, RPM guages, oil pressure guage and the altenator guage doesn't work. The altenator was week on the trip down here, but still cranks fine. I can't makeout any particular fuse that would make this happen. Does anyone have any suggestions. |

I have a 1997 DT466e/4700. My battery charge gauge jumps from 14 to 10 repeatedly. Sometimes stays stuck at 10 volts for 15 minute or more at a time, yet, the battery is never low. Do I have a faulty gauge or a charging issue? Truck also has check engine light come on during hard acceleration but no trouble code? Turn off and restart and the truck runs fine until the next occurrence of hard acceleration. |

I have a 1997 international 4700 dt466e I was sitting at a red light, and the truck went dead.It would turn over but not start. You can spray it with starting fluid and it will crank up and run for a few mins. And then it goes dead.I changed the cam sensor and checked the fuses under the hood on the inside and the battery box.I also changed all the fuel filters. There is no air in the fuel lines. The only code I get is 111 on the diagnostics and that is the no fault detected code. Can you tell me what is wrong with my truck or tell me what to change or check. |

When this happened to me, I was told there are three relay's, under the hood, in the middle of the compartment near the windshield. I was to to try to remove them and to rearrange them. The truck started and I was able to drive to the dealer to get new relays. All three are the same relay and can be interchanged. Hope this is your problem. |

Any ideas? yes it was the head light switch on the left side of lower dash by your left leg. this was on a newer international school bus, but it is called a housing not a switch. part 35820 62 C1. this housing has three plastic switches that go in it that push the contacts for the lights. |

HELP! I have a 2006 466e and the motor keeps running hot. I have put a thermostat, clutch fan, the water pump is 4 months old. Once the truck is warmed up it will run @ 210 then you start pushing the truck it will go over 230 and red engine light will come on. if you stop driving the temp will go down quickly. Ialso have power washed the radiator and changed airfilter. Thanks. |
|
ovanniekerk in Bridgeport, Connecticut 11 months ago |
do the fan come on also look at the radiator for clogging between the condensor and radiator also it not good to run the engine to 230 you have to look at the egr cooler |
