j bird j bird2 in Ft Myers, Florida said: There really is no business , less you want to go to North Dakota , i have been looking for months thinking about trading for a over the road truck . I am a dump truck owner. I have been in this business since 2004. You have to know what you are getting into. It is not what it is crack up to be. There are so many disappointments in this business. With the cost of gas and the parts. The maintenance on these truck are terrible. You have to know how to work on these trucks or the dealers will rob you blind. We lost so much in this business. We thought that once we paid off the truck that we would start to see a difference. Not so. The lack of work out there, is scary. We work for 3/4 different pits and some times none of them have work. We have friends that are in this business and they have the same testimony. I have seen people have 4/5 dump trucks and end up with none or 2. It's not what you think. Do your research. The overhead is a lot. The gas company get paid, the insurance company get paid, the heavy equipment dealers get paid, the driver get paid but the only one that don't get paid is the OWNERS. You may survive if you drive your own truck, do your own maintenance, do your own paperwork and still it hard. DO YOUR HOMEWORK! Just because you see dump truck rolling; don't mean they are making money. They could just be paying off bills that the dump truck has made. If, I could count they number of people who have turned their trucks in. The only reason we survived is because of of Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ and the fact that my husband and I both work other jobs. |

I Thank you very much Sis. I pray that God will continue to open new doors of bleesings on to you and yours. Thanks for taking the time to respond and you have definitely put my mind at ease with your response. I do see a lot of Trucks back in my area here in Houston and I have been really interested in getting into the business. Based on my research, I have concluded to hold onto my Investment Money for now. I do appreciate it. Regards. |
