Puzzled in Mobile, Alabama

From time to time i can turn switch on Sterling truck and all it does is click. Installed new solenoid on fender well and had starter checked. They said starter was not bad. Need advice on what else to check. When it works, it works well, it just takes spells.

stick screw driver BIG ONE up in flywheel gear teeth through small inspection hole and pry it one way or the other try turning it now I think your starter gear and flywheel are hitting tooth to tooth thus a click but no turn
