To all Electrical trades persons wishing to work in Australia.
Please appreciate that things are tough here at the moment.
My original "Post" about mine jobs was several months ago; things have changed since that posting. I AM NOT AN EMPLOYER! I try to offer correct advice to those whom request it.
Australia, like most countries at the moment, is affected by the economic down turn and our Federal Government is shutting off sponsorships etc. They wish to protect local jobs for local people which is understandable.
If you ARE a qualified linesman or sparky (able to produce certificates and licences) you would still be best advised to travel here on a "Work Visa" and do almost any type of work you can obtain. While you are having your trade recognised in Australia you can still legally do any type of work which can still be found (except electrical). The mining industry is "gutted" at this time and opportunities are very limited.
I wish you all well and good luck to you all.
Frontline Fred. Brisbane, Australia.
