If you can get in with Toronto Hydro, Hydro One or OPG, here in Ontario, Canada, it seems like that would be your best bet. My husband just got in, you're looking at upwards of 100,000 a year, depending on who hires you. Hope that helps |

Hey, I work for KBR, but I can't do this crap (drive trucks) forever. I want to get an apprenticeship to become an electrical lineman. I will be available to move anywhere really, preferably in the South, but looking for decent pay & good working environment. Does anyone have any suggestions? I was reading someone saying that you have to move around alot to follow the work, is this true? |

Can any body help me? I am an Electrician looking to get on the rigs in the uk, i would work any where in the world, the uk is where i have been applying mostly. I am 26 years old, oil and gas experience of 7 years with comp-ex 1,2,3,4 medical and offshore cert BOSIET. I have been trying for 2.5 years now and still no look. I ring every week and send emails every 2 weeks to the same companies. I am so frustrated because i am a decent guy trying to make a better life for his family just like the rest of us but my determination is running dry now. Can any body lead me in the right direction??

Allteck Line Contractors out of Langley B.C. is looking for J-man linemen to work in South Africa, they have work for a long long time. the shift work is 6 weeks in and 6 out, and about 30k a shift according to the lineman I was talking to. They are a Union company, so you get all the pay and benefits!! |

Also Rockey Mountain Power is doing line work and substations on the MATL project from Alberta, Canada to Montana U.S. And we have permission to work both sides of the line! as long as you are a I.B.E.W. member. They are looking for J-man linemen and sparkies, and are just starting, should be good for a couple of years or more! |
