I'm thinking about accepting job with kbr in iraq. Not sure if I will like it though. Does anyone know if I decide not stay for the year, do I have to pay my own way home? Any other problems if I decide I can't stay the year? |

You can go home anytime you wish.. you dont have to stay for the contract time.. However you will not be hired back if you leave before your contract date.. they are pretty strict on that .. unless you KNOW some one or are in the click, then you can do what you you want but you gotta be hooked up or they will just use ya like an old shoe... just follow their rules which are relentless, and totally goofy, and you should be OK... I was there almost 2 years and did OK.. but it was a challenge trust me.....You work 84 hrs a week and put up with all the BS..That is like having or working 2 40 hr week jobs here....As an electrician here I make almost as much and sleep inmy own bed and dont have to put up with any of the crap you will over there.... Give it some good thought.... |

My husband is an Electrician in Iraq and his worst problem is his lack of materials and supplies needed to get the jobs done. He has been waiting for 2 months for some material they need to get a rather large and important job done. Nothing he can do at this point except sit back and wait. Other than that, he has never had any trouble. He actually says it is not bad and has made lots of friends. The food is terrible (although I know it is not like that every where) the accomodations are not great but are comfortable and the people are really, really nice. He said the only thing stopping him from staying as long as possible are me and our boys. With that said, it cannot be that bad. Good luck to you. |

Has anyone recently been contacted by a recruiter from posting on this website? I have applied on the KBR website to numerous jobs and posted on here a couple of times with no return. Did not know if posting on here would help me get noticed. My exp. is truck driving. Any help would be appreciated. James jnorman31@verizon.net |
