James Anderson in Denver, Colorado said: Look at local 415 this summer also 322 wyoming has good work and need us travelers to get the job done. 415 has the most up coming work this summer, wind farms, computer hub**** good job, the elusive Two Elks power house is set to start and 322 has a bunch of wind work by Casper and rumors of a nuke in Laramie. Colorado has a large number on book one and two but has three hospitals starting up. Bowmont Texas is starting up phase two.
Good luck brothers

Just ran into this site tonight, (actually, this morning). Am laid-off at this point in time and have considered overseas work. I'm on Book 2 at a few dozen Locals including Casper and Cheyenne. Have climbed into the top ten at Minot, N.D., but that doesn't mean anything. They have pretty much all of their own hands working and when a call comes in for a commercial rate job at 40 hours with no per deim it goes all the way through Book 2 and everybody gets a strike. I signed a month ago and was number 166 when I signed. I climbed over 100 spots within three days. Looking for work at Coal Creek working 5/10's at 32.64 with 35 bucks a day per deim. The commercial jobs are all 40 hours at less than 26 bucks an hour. It's a losing proposition to take the job. Hoping I don't roll off the books before some more calls come in for Coal Creek. I only have one strike but that doesn't mean anything. They will probably be needing another 20 hands for that job. Minnkota and Leland Olds are pretty well manned up and will only need a few more from time to time. Am licensed in Michigan, Wyoming, Washington and West Virginia. I also have a reciprocal license in Montana. Work looks to be a possibility in Helena, MT. They have most of the ground work done for a wind farm and have 70 windmills to put up. They also have a gas-fired plant that will going up just west of Butte. I you have anything on overseas work let me know. In the meantime I'll keep my ear to the ground.

I'm having a tough time deciding which of these three would best suit me. Any input would be greatly appreciated.

Cheers,

Hey Gordon, I'm IBEW out of las vegas. I am not kidding around here, If you have the brains, GO TO COLLEGE!! GET A DEGREE IN ENGINEERING OR SUCH! I know too many guys, guys with brains that by the time they are in their 50's are physically broken from doing the work that you are describing. Retirement is no fun if all you can do is sit in a wheelchair. I'm 44, and I'm back in school now!Checkout the job sites, enter Engineer, just take a look at what these guys are being paid, and, the working conditions are sweet.

The Union is good money and if you are willing to travel you can bank it fast this summer. I organized in one year ago almost to the day and was work 7/12 most of last year and just landed a plant had job that is a no layoff gig. Let me know if you need help.

Go to KBR.com. Also, type KBR into this forum search and there is a forum devoted to KBR talk called, KBR salaries......

Lots of info from KBR employees and their families.

Andy Martin in Coatbridge, United Kingdom said: Jmaes in Edmunton said he was making $2300 a week does anyone know where this is or is he talking shxt

i am definetly not talking crap about making 2300 a week. it is at an sagd oil refinery in the fortmcmurray oil sands working for a union named Christian Labour Association of Canada (CLAC) i was getting flown in fly out. 20 days on 8 days off. 12 hours a day. made a good 120 grand last year and still took 2 months off. pay gets even better with other unions in canada if you are local to the area. i dont know how they did it with hiring other people from overseas but they were hiring pipefitters and iornworkers from overseas. ive met some from the uk, philipines, none from the states though. check them out www.clac.ca send them a resume i guess. i dont know how they do it. not too much work yet cause of the downturn in oil lately, %75 of the jobs for this year are on hold. it has gotten better here though. any other questions dont hesitate to email me at jameshoward@live.ca i dont mind helping other sparkys find work if i can help

KBR is the worst company to work for in theatre as far as electrical work is concerned.
With a 54% attrition rate for sparkies what else would you expect. 13 hour days, 7 days a week, and being stuck on a Grounding and Bonding crew is ridiculous. Only the very desperate stay. Anyone looking for work should look at any of the other contractors over there. Why? 6 - 10 hour days and one day off per week is one very good reason, not to mention, more pay from other contractors. KBR hires fast n furiously, so if you're in a jam by all means have at it, but at least realize what you're in for before you go out there. When a SCW starts snapping gear breakers on and off while you're changing a main disconnect dont say you haven't been warned.

Hey all you sparky's out there

A fair warning to you all. do not give out your passport number or give a photo copy of your passport.THEY DO NOT NEED THIS INFO TO HIRE YOU FOR OVERSEAS.There are other ways they can check you out you only give this info once your hired. And once you have info on them (that the info above all checks out.

if they don't contact you by other means than by email ... be careful
