No, nothing has changed. In fact, in local 46, just south of Matt's 191, we have a 18K loan we have to repay if we leave the apprenticeship or work non-union in the 5 years following turning out, so Matthew may want to look real carefully at what sort of agreement 191 had him sign when he joined. |

After investigating further work overseas for apprentices is permitted as long as its cleared by the JATC training director, and the training committee. |

Andy Martin in Coatbridge, United Kingdom said: I am an Electrician looking to get some experience working in the US I hear New Orleans is desperate for people New Orleans is near the bottom of the pay range for electricians. If you don't mind starting as an apprentice you'll make more and get better training if you join the IBEW in Seattle. We still have lots of work and a first year IBEW apprentice in Seattle starts at more than most New Orleans journeymen make. The catch 22 is that the places that pay well usually don't accept your experience and training if it occurred in another country. Which is why you'd have to start as an apprentice. |

Thanks for all that sent their resumes for the job in the Virgin Islands, my husband was contacted by someone who used to live here and holds his master here in the Virgin Islands, to their code. I once thought that of a guy when I was 24 I have since come to regret that thought. You have no idea what you are talking about but one day you will I have more experince in one finger than you have in your whole body which in construction is enormous, I was commended from disney as the only person EVER to have completed a project on time with no errors ever in their history so keep working one day you may get there |
