Im looking to travel overseas or somewhere to work hopefully on a 12 month contract. Does anyone know of some companies looking to recruit american work. No fluor have just hired 2 groups of british electricians I am currently in Afghan with them. you need to have a JIB card and 2391 preferred but not essential look on their website looking for electricians with bs 7671 experience. hope this helps - Was this comment helpful? Beleive what I am telling you- I have been putting in resumes/applications with them for MANY people for over 17 years- and they have ALL recieved call backs. Good luck. If I might add to that a little Crystal is right, apply for every job that you are qualified for. My only suggestion is not to do it all at the same time. A former recruiter told me that when they go to fill a position the resumes are listed in order by date filed, with the most recent on top. They will work down that list until they fill that position, and they will generally fill a bunch of positions at one time. So by applying for a few positions every couple of days will increase the chance of getting your resume read. They will also use computer screening to select the resumes with the most key words in them. LU#363 NY in Middletown, New York 19 months ago	go to fluor they called my friend in less than 7 days but he doesn't have a contractors license and that is what they want but in NY the only thing you have is your IBEW card unless you get a license on your own . There is still a few states that do not require one, I am not sure what they are doing in those cases. i worked there too in Grand Blanc, Michigan 19 months ago	hey moron, i was in the union and still am. let me tell you how good they are. they could careless if you lose your house or everything you own just as long as you keep paying your dues. They take my money and do nothing for it. Sounds like a wife. Ive been out of work for almost 3 years and havent had 1 call. So all the money ive given them was for what? They're paid to get to find work. So maybe they should be fired. Some of us made the sacrifice to go overseas to pay the bills and support our families. So either yu dont have a family and are a MOOCH(off unemployment) or you are one of the typical people who whine cause they're broke and are unwilling to do what it takes to provide for yourself or your family. So step off your soapbox. I applaud all those men and women who went overseas to provide for themselves and their families. SO GO AHEAD AND KEEP MOOCHING WHILE I PAY THE BILLS. I did my physical friday, did the work disclosure forms,apps and security stuff I still need to do the dental and fingerprints Monday. Anyone been through this process about how long am I looking before they want me in Greenville and about how long do you get your flight ticket befor you leave. Friday I had a fedex package at the door and I had to get my fingerprints done at the sheriffs office ant that I did have to pay for was only 20 bucks but I am sure other offices are different. It was about a week someone from houston contacted me and asked if I had a jouneymans liscense and if I had a passport. I did not have a passport so I had one expedited in it took about 2 to 3 weeks to get it. so if you can, make sure you have your passport. Then I had to take a copy of both and e-mail them to here and she will send them to fluor and in about 2 to 3 weeks I will hear from them. It took them about 2 months to contact me my recruiter said I guess I was one that slipped through. He says from the first day I talked to him their goal is to have me in Greenville in 2 to 3 weeks. LU#363 NY in Middletown, New York 19 months ago	Fluor starts with the same money unless you get a foreman's job than it's $133,900 with a $3000 bonus after 90 day's and $3,200 upon return from R&R and they only want guy's with a lic. so that kills guy's who's state has no lic. unless they are a contractor on the side. guy from my local might get to test out but it's up in the air now hope this helps I'm on my final leg of getting out after I get an up date from my DR.and am at this for 4 weeks so far Good Luck out their - Was this comment helpful?
