Looking for and researching overseas work for electricians. I am doing research for my husband who is interested in oversea or northern work. He was master electrician and former contractor, with about 20 yrs experience. Unfortunately we had to close our business–and relocate south owing to my health about 1 ½ yrs ago. His company specialized in industrial electric and explosion proof and classified locations. Worked a lot with natural gas pipelines in the mid west–also has some coal and mining experience–but in truth there is not much he has not done. He did do time in the military in the 80s and had top security clearance/ was honorably discharged with a rank of E5. He is currently employed–in larger hospital projects–new and remodeling of, but the work is not exciting enough for him–he is by nature a road warrior. He was trained up through the IBEW–but the union is not very strong in Florida and his Iowa license has expired. We have the results of his experior test, also his code up date taken in 2006 and he is willing to retest, for requalification as needed. My health has improved and our children are nearly grown now, he just turned 43 Saturday, and he’d like to get back on the road for a few more yrs. Been researching KBR, does anyone know of any other companies beside KBR that are hiring for overseas work? He is also interested in Canada–the pipeline and mining jobs owing to his past experience in–about 10 yrs. I note Canada wants red seal qualifications/ certification, does anyone know how an American can go about getting? Thanks in advance for any help you can give us. Email is flwilson65@yahoo.com |

CV-curriculum vitae-every employer looks for one. Yes they will look after you, well some do, and help you relocate, depending what type and where the job is. If you are looking for change, thats up to you, where do you want to go, the job you want to do? my first overseas job was on the Brunt Ice Shelf, Antarctica the next year, working in the jungles of Belize. |
