Spent all that money. Spent the last two years looking for a job. Everyone wants someone with experience, yet no one will give any of us a chance to gain experience. Any suggestions? Am I looking in the wrong place??? Help. |

Am I looking in the wrong place??? Help. Go get experience at Neiman Marcus or other fine retailers. The cosmetic vendors are always looking for contract estheticians to do a facial event. The pay usually starts out at $20 hr. |

That's a great way to get some exposure. I did not know that cosmetic vendors did that or were looking for estheticians for events! Thanks. |

I have my bachelor's degree from a private business college. I have not been able to land a decent job since I graduated 8 months ago. I am at a loss of what to do next. One thing is for sure, I am moving out of this state in Januaty of 09. |

I felt that way too. Where i live its a competitve market. In addition to dropping my resume off at every salon in town for months I also tried to get a job selling cosmetics or as a receptionist at a salon to gain some experience and get a foot in the door. I feel like I got very lucky because recently someone has decided to give me a chance in their spa after their esthetician left. don't give up. |

I just received an interesting email from a publisher of textbooks for cosmetology schools. One blog caught my eye: THE COSMETOLOGY INDUSTRY WANTS MORE PROFESSIONALS!
What do you think? |

Lynn, I would approach spas and see if they need interns. You may have to work for free BUT it will get you experience and THAT you can put on a resume and get something full time. Also, you never know, something may open up at that spa and look who's there ready for the job--YOU! :-) Another thing: work on your interview skills--very important. hope that helps! |

When I first got out of school, I worked at the front desk in a spa and helped with the spa. I placed their orders and kept the place clean.. I was given extra training with senior estheticians and when a position opened up they gave it to me. It took 5 months, but it was worth it. See if someone will do this for you. |

Anna in Minneapolis, Minnesota said: Hello everyone, I couldn't find your info on the Enormous Lash, but I have used a product for over a year called RevitaLash and you put it on as a liner on top and bottom before going to bed and it really makes your lashes grow. I have used the same bottle for over a year and keep getting comments on how long my lashes are and they were so short before. I am not sure if your product works the same way but if you want to learn more, let me know or call at 678-887-8995, lauriesilverman@mindspring.com |

Is this a coating product or something which results in actual longer, fuller lashes? What I mean as "coater" is a product which builds up on the lashes or something whish actually makes the lashes grow longer and fuller? |
