I am interested in becoming an esthetician..I am in upstate NY..does it really matter where I go for training?

I would like to get the best possible training i can get, but the place that seems really good is like an hour away..There is a local beauty school here near Saratoga Springs NY that is about 8k, i think..It doesn't seem very high-end though.
I am very knowledgeable, do peels from canada on friends and family, been doing makeup forever, as i am a former model..Keep up on all medical skincare info, and would maybe like to end up getting my RN to do deeper peels, fillers,etc..
Would become a derm, but too many yrs of school.I am already 31.
Anyhow, i will probably move to NYC next yr..but would like to get license ASAP (they say i can in 5 mos.)
Just wondering if i went to this beauty school, go the training and license, if it really matters..then i can fly around do workshops and whatever..but sorta stuck here for now!
