I recently moved from NC (where I went to school and obtained my first license) Now having moved to FL I have received my Facialist License but I am a bit confused as to what services I can and can not offer. And I really can't find a good website that outlines what a faciialist in FL is licensed to do. My main concern is body treatments.... Fl offers a Body wrap license that is different from a Facialist and I'm wondering now as a licensed Facialist and I allow to offer body wraps/masking and back facials also can I do hand and foot treatments such as paraffin. Also is eyelash tinting allowed? And what Machines can I operate without dr supervision. And is there a website that states the guidelines as far as sanitation goes. Also I am wanting to open up my own salon in a building that is behind my house and I want to know what the laws are as far as do I need a sink/ bathroom how many exits...so on and so forth. If anyone has any information in regard to these questions I would greatly appreciate any help. |

The best advise I can give is to join a group of esty's at: and connect with Marion Dove who manages it. She is an esty and instructor in FL and can answer all your questions. She is highly knowledgable in any of the Florida laws. Jeff |
