The intent is to just "de-roof" the lesion. This means to remove a thin layer of stratum corneum which is covering the opening of the follicle. The intnet is NOT to puncture the epidermis itself. So, the greater the angle the better.

It is illegal for estheticians to use Lancets in California. Hope you are not using them.

Just to back up what Susan says - illegal to use in California - and a minimum $250 fine from State Board if they are found on the premises. (In theory, they could fine you for every lancet, not just the box, so that could mount up quickly and painfully!)
