Cidesco diplomat in Toronto, Ontario 4 months ago |
kate77001 in Toronto, Ontario said: Hi,I'm working as a Medical Esth/Laser Tech in Toronto..I'd like to get licence or a Laser Tech licence..and I was looking for an institute or school where I can get CIDESCO certificate..I find Gina's Beauty School only but they weren't really helpful. Whatever you do.... Do NOT attend Gina's college. I am a graduate of the school as well as a cidesco diplomat and their level of professionalism is beyond subpar. They will suck you in they leave you out to dry.... They limit your use of materials and do not have an adiquite number of machines to cover the number of students they take in. The Mississauga location has lost all of their teachers over the past year due to politics and the way they treat their employees. They are completely unprofessional and it is a total shock to me that they haven't been dropped by cidesco. There is a school in Richmond hill I believe that offers the cidesco program and from what I have heard through investigation they also have had the same employees for quite a few years which in my mind is a good first sign when deciding on an institution. Good luck on your cidesco journey! |

There is a school in NY pending CIDESCO approval; but as of right now the best US CIDESCO school is in Texas. Cathy Driscoll is the owner. You do not have to attend a CIDESCO school in order to find an amazing esthetics school...and esthetics is certainly the field you want; not cosmetology! Check out the Aesthetic Science Institute in Latham, NY. |

Karen M in Los Angeles, California said: Hi there. Where is the best place to start if you are just going into medical aethetics? I live in Hermosa Beach, California and I would like to work specifically with skincare med spas and I am starting from scratch. I would like to work for an established company. One suggested I just get my Rn liscence and they can train me from there. A medical aestitican reccommended I just attain my estetician liscence, then hire out RN's to open a business. Do you need a strong stomach to persue this business. My experience is in fashion sales and pre-school teaching. Hi,

Albert Canalizo in Arlington, Texas said: To my knowledge, Dr Fam's Dallas Advanced Medical Aesthetic program- 8 full days the the only state licensed medical aesthetic provider taught by a physican. He is excellent but I would suggest you take IDI's 5 day advanced basic class and a few other before so you have a good foundation . Can you clearify "the only state licensed medical aesthetic provider" As there are no licensed medical aestheticians how can you have a licensed medical aesthetics provider? Who Licenses this? |

Hi I am interested in re entering the Skin care industry. I am California licensed Esthetician and Cosmetologist. I am currently in the process of reciprocity for my Cosmetology license here in Texas. I live in Houston. What would be the best avenue to go about getting advanced training and job opportunities.. I appreciate any feedback.. amber |
