Jan Marini has a great line. Used to carry it myself. The price point is for an upscale client who can afford to pay top dollar. I also love Image Skin Care. Great lines, and great price point.

Thank you so much for your comment!! I am using the Jan Marini and do love it, but the price of the product is so expensive, which is what I'm worried about, I just dont see many people buying a little bottle for 80 bucks! : )

Lana,I am interested in the line you use. Do they sell to solo estheticians? Do they have a minimum? Do they have back bar sizes as well? Is there a contact person on the west coast? Thanks, Susan@thefacialroom.com

You can go on their website www.skinacademie.com and read about this company, products, also request for info, they will send it to you. Also you can call them. The president is a very nice french woman, her name is Edith Sebbar. They have a minimum order but I am not sure how much is it now. They can answer all your questions. But the products are fantastic! Good luck to you!

Hi Shannen,
I just saw your post, and thought you might be interested in this new company. If you haven't heard of it yet, you will soon. Rodan + Fields Dermatologtists are the doctors that created Proactiv. In their new company they are bringing dermatology based skincare to the masses. And this time they are offering independent business ownership through direct sales. Imagine where you would be today if they 18 years ago they had asked you to join them when they created Proactiv (which has made almost 9 billion dollars)! That is precisely the offer on the table. Would love to talk with you and get you more information about this amazing opportunity!

I know that with Jan Marini and Image Skin Care (Both sold only to licensed professionals) the mark up is at least 100%. So say if I buy a Jan Marini Cleanser for $20, I sell for $40 and make $20 in profit.

How much retail profit do you get selling a 4.2 ounce of Rodan and Fields cleanser for $41 (retail)? What is the dollar amount of retail profit?

Thanks for the input ltp. There is a 25-31% profit margin on our R+F products. But the big payout doesn't necessarily come from selling product at this point. It's from building a team. For example, I have an office that sells R+F under me, I make 15% of all their profits, they sign their patients up who see what a great product and opportunity it is, and I make 5% on all their profits, and so on... Being ground floor is about building the infrastructure of the Proactiv doctors next billion dollar company. These are the only dermatology based products available to the general public without a prescription. And the only well known brand name product with such credibility and backing to ever be brought to direct sales. The doctors owned 85% of the billion dollar acne market with Proactiv. We have 4 main product lines in the soon to be 5 billion dollar aging skin market. You can imagine the numbers on that!! I am just thankful that I was told about this opportunity, and try to share it with everyone I can. Hope that helps answer some of your questions, have a great day!

Jill - I'm interested in your comment that "these are the only dermatology based products available to the general public without a prescription"

Without subjecting me to a sales pitch, could you let me know why you make this claim when there are so many other product lines developed by dermatologists available in the marketplace. (Note - this is not a question about the benefits of the direct sales model!)

Thanks!

Hi EE!
Dr.s Rodan and Fields' product development strategy is to combine OTC (over-the-counter) medicines and active cosmetic ingredients to create safe and effective formulations. While seeing patients in their practice they saw the need and wanted to provide people with dermatology based skin solutions without having to go to a dermatologist. They have patented their multi med therapy formulation which layers medications and active cosmetics. I don't have the extensive skincare education that you do, I have a Masters in Nursing and am a Family Practice Nurse Practitioner. But I know that all these products have underwent clinical studies and work to transform skin. I apologize if I was misenterpreted in giving a "sales pitch." Just wanting to make people aware that this option is available for whoever is interested. If you would like to learn more about the products, I would be happy to send you ingredients lists. Just let me know. Have a great day!
