What are the top 3 traits or skills every event manager must have to excel?

You must be organized, able to think on your feet, and have an abundance of energy.

ALso, you have to be able to trust your staff, the big events don't benefit from micro manegement as you can't be all places at all times. Make sure you are clear in your vision/goals/expectations or you will have a staff that won't do anything other than the bare minimum. When you let a staff mamber know you trust them they automatically perform better.

im really intrested in working as like and event planner or something for a magazine corp. they plan fashion shows and are part of all that planning.I think its an event planner im not sure what the position is called. my quetion is whats the degree i should get or major in? im almost going to college
