Looking to get started in event planning

I have a great day job currently that is very steady, and I'm finishing up my second degree, but I have always dreamed of doing events. I think I want a corporate event planning job. Where do I begin? I'm getting some experience where I work now, and have letters of recommendation to use from the events I've done. I would love to know what I hould focus on and work towards.

i was just wondering what kind of job you are doing now where you are getting some event planning experience. Im looking for a job where i can gain some experience before i do the real thing in the long run, but i dont know where to search???
