Knedle from Melbourne, Australia provided a great informational site on federal government job interviews. But here is another tip: Right after your interview (within 48 hours) send out a thank-you note to your interviewer(s). So many job seekers do not take the time to do this, and it does make a difference in the eyes of your interviewer. A prompt thank-you letter demonstrates many things about you - that you're not only timely and courteous, but that you possess good social and communication skills. If the employer is having a difficult time choosing between top candidates with similar qualifications and experience, a thank-you letter from one can tip the balance in your favor! And although in the past it was preferable to send your thank-you letter by mail, it is now more than acceptable to send your letter by e-mail. If you need help with wording, here is a great resource for professionally-written, thank-you-letter wording examples: www.freethankyounotes.com. Look for this section: Job Interview Thanks. |
