I applied for a department chief position in late November. As this juncture, my application is listed as "received" but, no further action has been taken. It is my understanding the the process of hiring executives within the federal system takes longer and not to expect to hear anything for a while. Historically, for the few federal positions I have applied to in the past... I was notified of my application status within ~2 weeks of the closing date for the position. This time... nearly two months and still no word. Is this significant of a time lapse in reviewing executive applications typical? Of course, I am still actively looking and applying for other positions, but, I am particularly interested in this position. I am wondering if anyone can shed any light on the timeline for hiring in a lead (chief) departmental position? Thank you in advance.
