Where can I apply my experience in Financial Planning that does not involve sales? |

I have been in the financial industry for 7 years. I am a CFP® and I manage a book of business with an Independent RIA. I left the major wirehouse type firms because it was too stressful. I commend those who can handle the extreme sales pressure and quotas that are set for advisors but that is not why I got in the business. My last employer actually told me he would rather hire car salesmen than cfp's because they are better salesmen, and my knowledge is my downfall. I am alot happier now however my income level has dropped below the level of being able to support my family. I know LPL has a department for CFP® practitioners to support advisors internally and work on a salary. Are there any other companies that have something similar to this, or does anyone on the forum know of a career path for CFP's that want out of the salesmen rat race? |
