not sure, although, I am a veteran who was recently diagnosed with ptsd. I currently work for the federal govt. as a firefighter/paramedic. I am worried myself, that once it becomes known, that I will lose my position or be forced into retirement. It is hard for me to get out of bed some days and I have exhausted nearly all of my sick leave due to my ptsd......I was a 51M firefighter in the army and all I want is help...the va is giving me counseling and meds, but I guess i have to just ask the question as to whether it is going to go against me at work.........good luck with your endeavors and I hope you can become a firefighter.....get the counseling and use the meds... |
