EMPRESS KELLY...Departure announcements are done by a CD (unless it's inop, then you will have to say them...but by the time you come across a broken CD player you will have heard the CD so much you can repeat it word for word with every inflection in the ladies voice). Arrival announcements are the same as you've always heard. But, if you'd prefer...I can type them out. haha |

I couldn't find anything when I googled it.

RJ in Atlanta, Georgia said: STEVE, My guess about why people want SA is because of the domiciles (they are different than the other 3 companies'); and because of the type of planes. SA is only using Embraer 170's which is a NEW airplane, AND it utilizes 2 f/a's as opposed to one f'a on some of the other companies' planes. A lot of people, like myself, prefer to work as a team on a 2 f/a plane instead of being the only f/a on a plane. Also, those Embraer 170's are REALLY nice planes - they are like a mini-737. If you've ever flown on other commuters (other regional airlines) you know that some of those other planes can be quite trashy. If you'll go on the Republic website, you can see what the domiciles are for the three airlines, and that may make the difference for you. Hello everyone Im soo excited for all of you. All 3 certificates (RA,SA,CHQ) for Republic Airways Holding is growing and that's a great thing!!

BTW, I don't believe you will find any annoucement CD's for sell. You will only come across them on the a/c and probably through maintance. But, don't worry like someone previously stated you repeat the annoucements so much you will learn them in no time at all.

Sharon in Sylvania, Ohio said: Republic Flight Attendant in Harrisburg COULD you please tell me what to expect at the initial interview and how does the traing go? I can tell you...because I went a few weeks ago. I decided not to take the job because I want to fly on larger planes. First of all: They are extremely nice.
If you are going to Indy... you will be seated at a conference style table with the other applicants. After a brief intro..they will ask you one by one to stand up at the location you are seated and speak a BRIEF intro about yourself.
1. Thank them "by name" for inviting you to the interview. ( example: Anna, Joan) 2. Then state your name and where you are from. 3. Your current occupation 4. 2 of your hobbies. Snowboarding,
5. Why do you want to work for Republic?
SMILE!!! Be HAPPY! ENJOY! They are outstanding ladies... :) I would work for them in a heart beat

AJZ ChautauquaFA in Buffalo, New York said: hey! For anybody that out there that is waiting for the training date for Chautauqua, I got the phone call today that it will be March 3rd. So I'm thinking that if AJZ's class got March 3, and they're having to use the same training facilities for the Republic and the Shuttle A. people, then Shuttle must be that last week of March. EMPRESS - I, too, stress about learning the announcements, but a couple of people have said that we don't have to memorize the ones on the CD, so don't worry. Just learn the one that you get in your training packet. I have a BIG problem with memorization, but I'm trying not to stress over it TOO much. I posted a helpful hint a while back - tape your announcement in your bathroom across from the toilet - you'll be forced to read it a couple of times per day. LOL. |

Rj, what do you mean at the end of the month? Dont they usually train all airlines at the same time? Cause i thought this trainning class right now, all of the airlines are trainning. |

RJAtlanta in Atlanta, Georgia 9 months ago |
T - Hope I answered your question in the facebook email. But for anyone else reading this, Republic trains their classes separately. Republic's planes are different from Chaut's planes are different from Shuttle's planes. Looks like Republic is training at the beginning of the month, Shuttle is training at the end of the month, and I've not heard any of the Chaut. folks say where their training class falls in there. |

I got my call two days ago. Chaut's training starts on March 3rd! |
|
RJ in Atlanta, Georgia 9 months ago |
Thanks, Dawna. (I still love your name). So that must mean that Republic and Chaut. people train at the same time (but in separate classes), and the Shuttle people are the red-headed stepchildren (LOL) who train starting at the end of the month. I've heard that they're using a Holiday Inn meeting room for some of the classes. It's possible that some of you are going there, and some are going to the Republic training facility. Lisa - any feedback on that? |

Hello Everyone I am about to go to training with Air Wis and I am curious about what to wear. I know business casual would be safe but to me business casual can be a nice fitted pair of denim jeans, a button up shirt and nice pair of dress shoes. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. |
|

Business casual almost never includes blue jeans of any kind. I would go for khakis or a pair of casual slacks. |

Hello Everyone! Well...passed the emergency equipment test today! Woohoo! Still have my (2) retake chances left! Flyboy...not sure what ATL will bring. Personally...My transfer bid is in already...I want ORD. My guess people will always be going to ATL. As far as the class locations..SA was at the Holiday Inn Airport for the 1st week. We are now at headquarters. Chat and Republic are at the hotel. Hanger nights are fun...but they run late. I know they have mentioned March classes...but gave no specific dates....c'mon...ya know me...if I knew I'd spill it...(wink) |
|
flyinsoon in Indianapolis, Indiana 9 months ago |
No mention of any classes starting earlier than the end of March, but I can tell you, there will be a class every month. My understanding is they need a lot of people in ATL, so now will be a great time for those who are interested in SA to come on board. Training is great, some nights are more stressful than others. We have a great class and everybody get along. Those who are coming onboard in MArch, I do look forward to flying with you. |

Since you're offering answers to questions, here's one for you - I will be in the March Shuttle class and I'm hoping my trench coat I already have will meet requirements for the uniform. Mine is black, double breasted, hits about mid calf and has a cape-like portion in the back. What do you think? Also the each sleeve has a little belt like thingy at the wrist. Do you think it will pass? |

Lisa, Now training for SA in Indianapolis, Indiana 9 months ago |
Hello Future Flight Attendants! And you too RJ! (wink) Just checking in...we are in week 3 of our training. It is fast and furious. The instuctors are great! To try to keep you informed on our day to day activities would do one of two things...confuse you or scare you away. My best advice is to pay attention in class...taking good notes. Each night go over those notes with the FA manuals they provide you and do the worksheets. Keeping up with what is taught is the "key". Another piece of advice is that you have family or friends in the area...DO NOT CONTACT THEM. With class time, hanger time, laundry time, grocery shopping..etc... This is your time and you will need all your energy for your studying. Focus on being a flight attendant...nothing else. Advise your partner of this as well. (if you have one) Family drama really messes with studying. Six day and counting....GOLD WINGS and BLUE SKIES! Back to studying... |
