My passport arrived, my travelpro's are ordered, and I'm sooooo ready! tkizzle and RJ and Awaiting, hi :) Can't wait to meet up with you all for training! Have a wonderful Tuesday everyone! Yes i know!! I am stoked for this! See you sometime in March!! |

LISA - You sly dog. :) I can't believe you're almost done! And you still have your two fails - how comforting. I went out of town this weekend and took my study material w/ me ;) I think I'm in good shape. I sure hope that you only have to do minimal time in ATL and that you'll get ORD really soon. Having flown all weekend, I'm really ready to get there and start slinging those Cokes myself. I'm flying again this coming weekend, and I hope to be able to schlep over to the commuter concourse and be nosy.

Seriously, you can't wait until the last minute to buy the items that they don't furnish (like shoes). It took me weeks to find comfortable shoes. |

Just came back from the open house in ORD. PPL. seem to be very nice, they told us they will let us know within next two weeks. They told us if we wanted to get on very soon we better go with Republic, however I put SA as my first choice. They still don't have a training date for SA. RJ, how long did it take them to get back to you? |

Although I feel quite sure that you're going to be invited to SA training in March, I completely agree with your decision to accept the other one anyway. Maybe you can have some fun "doing" NY next week. Are you going to have access to a computer so that we can keep you posted on things? |

Hi I've been interested in becomming a F/A. Well in my line of work now, I run into alot of retired F/A and Pilots. And they say I would really enjoy it. So in 5 weeks a recruiting event is comming here and was wondering what to expect and look out for. I am a little nervous I've been wanting to do this for 3yrs now. So if anyone could give some helpful advise to calm these damn butterflies I would really appreciate it. thanx :) |

They say it's the best job they ever had commenting on the flexible hours. Just think how good it will look on a resume if you decide not to stay with it!! You have to remember, the pay is not so great. If you have some other support then you'll be ok. Many fa's have a second job. |

Well the job I have now pays around the same so I'm not really worried about that. But the training, it will be difficult to keep my present employment and go to the training. Ssoo I was wondering just how hard trainng is to prevent you from getting the job.Is it as difficult as I am letting my imagination let it be. Hard work doesn't scare me but I did hear that STUDYING is the killer part of it. Just looking for some GREAT advise to help me decided whether I wanna take Flight or stay Grounded. |

Ok, now that's I've fully read this page of posts, Lisa says that we don't need to memorize them, so there ya go. I'm letting her be my guide as to what to stress about and what not to stress about. LIQCANDI - The difficulty that you're reading about IS with the studying and the daily tests. You're only allowed to fail two tests before being sent home. But, that being said, if you have a good record (from school, college, etc.) of being able to study and do well, you'll pass. The people who aren't making it are the ones who are out drinking at night instead of applying themselves, OR the ones who haven't honed their study habits well enough. There will, however, be study groups and everyone helps everyone else. Would you be able to return to your career if you didn't like training, or could you take a leave of absence perhaps? |

AJZ - I can't help with the Chaut. codes specifically, but I do know that if you assign acronyms to them, it helps you to learn some of the ones that don't make any sense. For example: MCO (Orlando) - Micky & Company; MSY (New Orleans) - It was MeSsY after the hurricane, etc. etc. You'll be required to know them backward and forwards, i.e. they'll either give you the city OR the code, and you'll have to come up with the other part of it. |

Oh, ok, I thought I remembered those at that Delta shop being black, but now that you mention it, I guess it does make sense that they would be blue like the uniforms themself are, duh. Oh, I don't know, maybe having second thoughts. Maybe it's just the idea of going away to a strange city and all that snow for 3 whole weeks. My husband is waiting to start his new job in Atlanta, so maybe it's just a combination of so many unknowns. |
