I sat thru a power point from 11am till 2:15pm. I was not into it at all.
Its a good product.... but the interview process is terrible. I'm glad I went..but I am even more glad it is over. |

Awaiting - you are so funny (re: the brain surgeons remark).
The biggest complaint that you're going to see coming from the f/a job is fatigue and low pay. People do not do this job for the $$ - they do it because they're like moths attracted to a flame. You just enjoy the lifestyle or you don't. Working for a regional is not going to give you wonderful layovers or exotic destinations - you'll have to do those things on your days off (which are few and far between when you're new). So now you've heard the worst of it. |

RJ in Atlanta, Georgia said: Awaiting - you are so funny (re: the brain surgeons remark). RJ, uhg, tell me again why we're wanting to do this? I DO want exotic destinations and wonderful layovers. How long do you think till we start getting enough days off for great trips? Help me weigh out these pros and cons. Obviously, I'm starting to second guess myself. Let's have lunch one day next week? |

gonnafly - I was at the Republic interview with you guys and also got an offer. I am now training w/ Pinnacle. I have a husband I adore and three beautiful little boys, and the three weeks IS hard. Especially, the beginning of the second week. (I'm in my third week now). However, you are soooo busy - the time does go by very quickly because the info is vital and interesting. You do not have time to miss anyone too much (although you will have your moments). :-) I am even more excited about this new career than I was when I started - I am almost there now! Keep your chin up - it will be over before you know it. One other thing - a four day layover seems like nothing compared to being away from home for three weeks! |

SWILLIS - I don't know if you want to hear this, but if I were you, I'd go to school for a couple of years and learn a trade to fall back on. The airline industry is way too unpredictable to place your entire future in their hands. Get a degree or certificate in something, and then hit the airlines again when you're 21. Life is VERY difficult without a degree or a sugar daddy (or sugar mama). |

LiqCandi in Saint Louis, Missouri said: LIQCANDI - You can REQUEST where you want to be based, but you don't always get it right off the bat. You have to be prepared to commute in the beginning, sometimes. Most of your trips will be 3 or 4 day trips, so you will be away from home those nights, then have maybe 2 days off, then back at work for another 3 or 4-day trip. Also keep in mind that if you are commuting, you will have to have a crash pad in your domicile city in case your trip is an early report - you would need to fly up the day before. Same thing on the other end - if your trip ends late at night, there may not be another flight out to your hometown, and you'd have to spend the night at your crashpad and fly home the next day. A junior f/a has very little quality time at home. |

Gonnafly... Sorry must of missed your email about the jacket. I purchased one before coming down. They did NOT approve it.I ended up taking it back to the local store here in Indy. Their jackets have grown on me. I think the cost was around $140. In our final days...lots of studying for the final etc....so if I happen to miss any more questions...please forgive me :) Hope that helps. But they do say to bring it...ya never know! |
