LlittleBritt,
I am sure you did wonderfully. The group we (1/8 in ATL) interviewed with were so sweet and down to earth. You should hear from them in a week or two. Don't sweat it if you received a FTF interview you have made it over the big hurdle...

I sent a resume or filled out some info inline a while ago so I will just sit and wait to hear. Honestly, I think SA is the best pick for me. I would hope that we could get off reserve sooner and if we are able to be based in ATL then all my wishes are answered.

Most of those of us who are left here now interviewed in Dec./Jan. and are in the same boat. I hope that some of the people who are just reading and haven't spoke up yet will go ahead and join us, so that we can "meet" each other before training. I think it will be a lot less stress if we are already acquainted with each other.

Hey RJ

I'm speaking. I can't wait to meet you all at training. Good luck to all that are presently in training I know that with the support on this forum you will all be graduating soon and showing off your wings.

I'm in the same boat as you with Shuttle. I interviewed in December, got my invite, but have been waiting on a training date since then. It's getting old, and I just like that Compass is something concrete. I mean I already got my packet of information for training! haha! BUT I'm still wanting Shuttle, so I can always pull out of training and come to Shuttle if I decide I don't like Compass. Who knows.

Of course you can pull out. One of the other guys who is currently in training plans to do that if his "choice" airline calls him.

I know that you're tired of waiting (esp. if it's been since December), but you are first in line for the next training date. I'm quite sure that you'll be hearing something in about 2 weeks - they've given everyone about a months' notice, and we're approaching that now. If you can wait, just start learning your city codes so that you'll be ahead of the game (that's what I'm trying to do).

STEVE - Of course you have a choice. They may ask you to consider one of the other companies, but you can tell them that you're only interested in Shuttle, and they'll give it to you. That's why so many of us from my interview are having to wait until March and April - to get the airline that we wanted.

I am currently intraining with SA and anyone who is considering training or even applying to SA should. SA will be growing this year. From what I have been told, they willbve having a training class every month up until November. I am so glad ther eare so many6 peole out ther considering SA as my Seniority will move up. The trainers here are great, from what I have seen from the company, it is great. Alot of growth opportunities. They do promote from within the company. If you have not been to an open house, I suggest you do. If you have any questions, let me know.

We have not received our base assignments yet. We have maybe 5 or 6 that want either ORD or IND and the remainder want Atlanta. We lost one person today, so we are down to 24. I think the class that is taking place in March will be a big class. We were suppose to have 30, but 5 didn't show. My understanding is they really need flight attendants now. I look forward to meeting each and everyone of you who got letters of offers.

RJ do you have any interview tips for SA? I heared they are opening ATL base and that would be my 1st choice.
I will have two interviews back to back with JB and SA, my first choice is JB but SA looks like a great company to be with. Getting flt. benefits on DL and UAL would be nice.

Can you tell me why are so many more ppl interested in SA instead of their other two companies?

Hey Shuttle Crowd,

Just a note as promised, we were informed of our base assignment today. The entire class was sent to ATL. Of course there are 5 of us that wanted ORD...and are totally confused right now. It was the last choice for all of us CHI TOWN people. Hoping this helps you in how things go. Oh well...

I am really confused on the entire class going to ATL. DOn't worry Lisa by the time RJ and I get done they will probably send us all to chi town. I will be more than happy to swap with ya. hang in there girl I am sure that more change is a coming. If they still need ATL folks in our class that would be amazing. I understand that we have approx. 50 in our March class who all (most likely) want ATL. Somebody will get the windy city and I assume you can trade?? On the bright side, I played golf yesterday...I know you can't do that in Chi town in February...

LISA, I'm so sorry that you didn't get ORD. I thought for sure that things would go the other way. There are so many people who are waiting for training who WANT ATL, that hopefully you'll only have to spend a month or so here.. I'm praying that my luck holds out and that we get ATL, and then some of us can switch. Re: the room - as a matter of fact, I do. If you're bring your car you're welcomed to it. But it won't do you any good without a car because I'm not close to public transportation that could get you to the airport. I'm about 40 minutes away. But yes, you are more than welcome to come - I have a basement apt. that is empty.

I feel so bad for Lisa that she didn't get ORD, and instead has to come here, esp. since we want ATL so badly. Hopefully we can all do a switcheroo and get ourselves where we want to be. Commuting is SUCH a hardship when you have a family (and pets). :)

STEVE, My guess about why people want SA is because of the domiciles (they are different than the other 3 companies'); and because of the type of planes. SA is only using Embraer 170's which is a NEW airplane, AND it utilizes 2 f/a's as opposed to one f'a on some of the other companies' planes. A lot of people, like myself, prefer to work as a team on a 2 f/a plane instead of being the only f/a on a plane. Also, those Embraer 170's are REALLY nice planes - they are like a mini-737. If you've ever flown on other commuters (other regional airlines) you know that some of those other planes can be quite trashy. If you'll go on the Republic website, you can see what the domiciles are for the three airlines, and that may make the difference for you.

TIPS FOR THE INTERVIEW: Wear a suit, dress shirt, and tie. Be clean shaven. Nice shoes. When you stand up to do your introduction at the beginning of the interview (and this part is VERY important), speak to the group as if you're doing a professional presentation. Be articulate and confident (even if you're not feeling it). :) Mention your customer service background. Smile. If you do ALL of those things, you've got about a 99% chance of being chosen. I promise.

I'll join in your 'pact', as I'm still here waiting too, for a date to train for SA..when I hear you'll hear. I interviewed at HQ on Jan 10th, was told most likely the March Class, but it looks like you all were before me, so I'm assuming to be one that gets pushed back to April. I'm so excited to start, I don't want to wait that long!! In the meantime I'm going to keep all my options open, I think that's wise advice for all of us. I would love to fly international, but am happy to be regional, especially as the newbie! I'll pay my dues :)

I think that depends on the situations, Ada. People move around more these days than they did before. If your reasons were valid, I don't see why it should count against you.

I am going to be training with republic airline, But i just got an invite with Continental Airlines for a interview. I am going to the interview. Does anyone know the differences? Are there more advantages of working with a major airline compared to a regional?

Hi Tiffany....I interviewed recently with Continental, made it thru til the very end..you know that day in the last panel interview, or you get the 'we'll email you' which means No. Be prepared for a long day. They are very nice at Continental, and I would have loved to be offered an opportunity to go international, but I'm here for a reason, so I'm happy :)
NWA just invited me to the 2nd portion of the interview, and cosent to run a background check via email..so I still have offers out there too! Keeping my options open until I have a training date!

TIF - The major differences will be pay, destinations, length of trips, seniority, and types of aircraft. A major airline will give you overseas opportunities, possibly a dollar or two more/hour to start, longer trip legs, worse seniority for a longer period of time, and larger aircraft. Republic will give you roughly the same pay to start, domestic destinations (with the exception of Canada, Mexico, and the Caribbean/Bahamas), shorter trips (less tiring), the ability to advance in seniority much more quickly, a shorter training period, and privileges on two (possibly three) airlines, where CAL will only give you privileges on CAL.

Those issues have to be factored into what YOUR personal needs are. Does that help any?
