Jennifer in Las Vegas, Nevada said: Hello everybody!

I just finished my second phone interview about an hour ago, I think I did well, the lady who interviewed me said she will pass this information on and I should hear something back from Delta in a few days, I asked if that would be by phone or e-mail and she said by phone. I have been reading this forum and see that some of you are told right after your second phone interview that you will be scheduled for a F2F, I was not told that so does this mean I didn't pass the second phone interview???
Has enyone had the same experience as me? I would have felt better if I was told already I passed the second phone interview and would be going to a F2F soon.

Thanks!
Jennifer :)

Have you heard from them yet, Jennifer?

Oh.... I'm not a US citizen. (green cared holder) I have a foreign passport, so I had to drive to Atlanta to renew in person for a faster process.

A guy given me an interview.... while I was talking, I've noticed that he was kept making this laughing (breathing) sound 2-3 times. I didn't want to say anything that he was rude at that time because I didn't want to make him upset. I just thanked him for his patience at the end of call, but he wasn't really nice about it neither. Some odd reasons something told me in the middle of this interview he might typing something I didn't say. I don't think I've got the fair chance for this process. I've received an email saying, thanks but no thanks today. I know I have an awesome customer service experience and look. I don't know what I did wrong.. I've been study for this interview process as well... I'm just bitter because I've spent money and time, which I don't have, just to be in part of this process. I just don't feel that it's fair because of this inexperience rep was rude and didn't know what was he doing. I hope they've monitored him. Well... good luck to you all... I hope you won't get this kind of rep on your 2nd interview.

Jazz, I am so sorry to hear that. You seem like an awesome person and keep trying other airlines. I used to fly for American but right before they hired me I was turned down by another airline. I was upset but so thankful when American hired me. American was definitely a better fit for me. I guess I am trying to say everything happens for a reason. You will find the right airline for you. I still haven't heard anything back from Delta and I am nervous.
Good luck to you.

Hi V! Can you give me some feedback about AA? How was your experience working as a f/a for them? How long is American's reserve for new hires? I'll appreciate any information you care to share. Thanks in advance! Good luck to you with Delta.

Paola, AA was an awesome company to work for but unfortunately they are not hiring. I hear rumors they may hire this summer but I am not sure about that. They have rotating reserve - you are on reserve every other month and then you have a line every other month. After 3 years you only have to have reserve every 3 months. It's a really good system for new hires because you are not straight reserve. I hope this helps. Let me know if you need anything else and hopefully they will be hiring this summer. :)

V, I'll be moving to Miami, FL next week and whenever AA has openings in customer service out of MIA, I'm planning to apply for it. I've read in other aviation blogs that AA is still calling back the remainder Furloughed TWA f/a's. Once they complete this, they will start hiring from within and the outside. How long did you work for AA? How was the training? I heard that compared to other carriers, AA is pretty strict, almost military style at times, is this true? Thanks again! Have a great day! :)

Paola, you are right about the training. They do intimidate you and have you walking on eggshells for 7 weeks. The good thing is my class didn't stay in the training center and so we stayed at a hotel. When we were away from the training center we all seemed to have a really good time. Once you get on the line, they are not intimidating. The FA's were all really nice to work with. They have a really great reserve system and are a great company so the seven weeks on eggshells is totally worth it. You are smart to get a job at the airport, then you have a foot in the door. Hopefully they will bring back the rest of the furloughs and hire soon. I do know that they still have 1,198 FA's still to recall so it may be a while. Good luck with the airport job!!!

This sounds similar to my experience yesterday. I started with the online form, answered some questions and was told to call. I called and was given a short interview where they asked me a few questions. At the time of that call she advised me to go to the website to complete an assessment and to upload my resume. After the assessment it asked me to call to speak with a recruiter. When I did she asked many 'interview type' questions, and at the end of the call she told me congratulations, they would like me to come to ATL for a FTF. This was yesterday. But please be advised that the recruiter told me not to panic - they were backed up getting many interviews scheduled and that it could be potentially 'several weeks' (her words) before I would receive the e-mail. That's all I know! =)

Hi everyone,

Actually this sound little different then what i did, i did apply for an application on NOV, couple weeks i was called for some scenarios questions, which i wasn't prepared for, honestly i don't know how i did? Last week i received an e-mail from them telling me to call the 1-877 number to speak with the recruiter this is almost 4 months after i applied, which i did and i was told that he has duplicate application of me, but still he told me that he was gonna ask me couple questions, i did answered all of those questions and i was so nervous but i believe i did well cause i did study some books, after completing all questions, he congragulate me that i successfully pass the phone interview, and said to go back to my application fill up the online assessment, and also the online application and the last question was : Where do i prefer to fly from? i did answered so excited and thanking him for giving me the opportunity to interview, and he said i should be receiving an answer by e-mailing, does anyone have a similar story to mine? Ooooooohhhhhh and by the way i do speak a sec language and i did work for 2 Airlines as a Ground Staff.
Does anyone have a story similar to mine? i would really appreciate if someone can reassure me with an answer.
This is pretty much confusing as lots of you guys mentioned in this Forums!!!!!!!!!!!!
Thanks a lots for your help, it's really appreciated....
Lots of luck to everyone.......
Best Regards.

Hi KAWTAR,

You can go back a page or 2 to read about my experience - it is fairly similar to yours, although all of my steps happened within one days time. Now I am just waiting to hear back, and like I mentioned before - they told me it may be 'several weeks', and not to worry, they are very busy. Hope this helps...

whilst everyone else was leaving, we went out of a separate door and the 5 of us were taken down to the reception area where we had to do a drug test and fingerprint sample.

Delta are doing training courses each week for the next 19 weeks - 1 training course is 90 people in total, split into 3 groups (30 people in each group)

It seems they take the best 4-5 from each interview and offer a conditional job on the spot. Now I also heard from one of the flight attendants who were conducting the interviews that they do also call a few people and offer some of the people a conditional offer too, just because some people left without being offered a job on the spot doesn't mean they didn't get the job! Any body has question splease feel free to email me - flutequeen20@hotmail.com

Hi Dear MARK,

I really like the way you did explain how the procedure went, actually i did call for my first interview after filling up job application online, he had asked me couple scenarios questions, and congragulate me and asked me the expiry of my American Passeport, and i was told to complete the assessement test and alo my application form online , he made me choose which airport i would like to fly from, i did thank him at the end, he was nice guy, and he said that they will send me an e-mail this was 2 days ago, what do you think i should do? should i give it some times or call them for FTF interview schedule?
Thanks a lots for your help...
Best Regards....
I hope that you did got the job you seems nice guy...

Hi everyone!
I just finished my second phone interview and after reading many of the posts on here, I see that many people were offered a ftf at the end of their second interview. I thought it went well, but was told that she would pass my information along to a senior recruiter and I would be receiving a phone call or email soon. I was wondering if anyone has actually gotten a call or email after completing the second phone interview if they were not given the ftf on the spot. I appreciate anyone's responses.
Good luck to you all and congrats to all of you that have made it to training.
Thanks-

Hey guys, I haven't read EVERY one of the blog entries, but I did want to let you know what happened this week with Delta!

I applied for the job online Sunday afternoon. 10 minutes after I submitted my application. Easy. After that, I called the number they gave me, and they did a short interview with me. The questions consisted of What would you do if questions. Easy. Then I did an online assessment, followed by another interview. The questions where Tell me about a time when..blah blah blah. I didn't hear anything monday (whether I did well or not), so I called on tuesday.

Tuesday I was told I would be flying to ATL. I flew out thursday!! SO FAST. I was so shocked. When I got to ATL, there were about 40 people there. ALOT of people had quite a bit of airline job history under there belts. I felt anxious, because I had none. I thought, uh oh...they're going to want people with experience and training.

They did a short presentation with us, interviewed each of us individually, did another Q&A session with us, called out 5 names, and the 5 were told, Welcome to Delta. I was one of the 5. I'm still shocked. None of the 5 that were picked had experience in the industry. 4 were very young (20's), and one that was in his 40's. We went on to the Delta employment office where we did background checks, fingerprinting, and drug tests. Drink lots of water!! It took me an hour to be able to use the bathroom!!! Haha...

I know that the entire group is split into YES's...NO's...and MAYBE's. The maybes are told that they will/might get a call in a few weeks. Thats incase one of the 5 YES's fail one of the background/drug tests.

I also know that they're only hiring language speakers right now. There were several people that were highly qualified, but because they didn't speak a second language fluently, didn't receive a job offer.

Good luck!

Delta, Northwest Announce Merger
By HARRY R. WEBER,AP
Story Highlights
-- World's biggest airline created with the Delta Northwest merger
-- Deal will need antitrust approval
-- New company to be based in Atlanta

Get Travel Ideas & Inspiration
ATLANTA (April 14) - Delta Air Lines has reached an agreement with Northwest Airlines to take over Northwest and create the world's biggest carrier. The boards of both companies gave the deal the go-ahead Monday. Delta said the combined airline will have an enterprise value of $17.7 billion. It will be based in Atlanta, and Delta CEO Richard Anderson will head the combined company.

Under the terms of the transaction, Northwest shareholders will receive 1.25 Delta shares for each Northwest share they own. The exchange ratio represents a premium to Northwest shareholders of 16.8 percent based on Monday's closing stock prices.

The announcement comes a year after the two carriers emerged from Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection. Both carriers are losing money again but are in much better shape than the four much-smaller airlines that have filed for bankruptcy or gone out of business in recent weeks.

The deal will need antitrust approval, and integrating the work forces of fully unionized Northwest and Delta, where pilots are currently the only major unionized work group, will be tricky.

The joining of Atlanta-based Delta and Eagan, Minn.-based Northwest, if approved by regulators, will result in combined annual revenue of $31.7 billion, vaulting it ahead of Fort Worth, Texas-based AMR Corp.'s American Airlines for the top spot in the U.S.

Hi everyone, My name is Mark. I am a British guy living in New York. I had the wonderful opportunity of briefly starting Delta Flight Attendant Training, but due to a family issue I had to leave the course. I am unable to return due to the lack of training courses and I am sure the NWA merger today hasnt helped either. Flying with Delta meant evertyhing to me, and now I feel so sad
I was told that I had to re-apply, I am able to do so June 11th. What worries me is I dont speak any languages...I am sitting here sad today because even if I did apply again June 11th with the merger its highly unlikely know Delta will re-hire at the end of the year.
If anybody can give my any helpful advice I would certainly appreciate it...feeling abit down in the dumps right now.

My email is: vanquishbrit@yahoo.com

Thank you for reading my post, good luck to everybody!! Delta is a wonderful airline!!!!!

Hi Regina! I actually interviewed today and I can honestly tell you that it was the best interview I have ever been to. The flight attendants doing the interview were all very friendly and made us feel welcome. They explained about the company and the flight attendant position. They ask some of the situation interview questions that a lot of companies ask. Thankfully they all smiled a lot which put us at ease. Unfortunately I did not get the job but it was still a great experience and I met a lot of really nice people. The best advice I can give is to relax and enjoy the interview. I wish you the best of luck and hope you are successful at your interview. :)

Also, I also applied as a bilingual FA and was wondering if anyone took that test that way i am a little prepared. Thanks

Hi R,

jennifer,
actualy you will get a phone call in order to set up a f2f interview....don't give up hope...also there is another forum titled delta flight attendant interview...you might want to review at least the last pages of it....

please feel free to contact me if you have any other questions and if i know the answer then I be glad to help in any way possible....I will be going to my f2f interview next week.

it did take 2-3 days after my 2nd phone interview to schedula the f2f interview but I had to push it back due to personal reasons.

Good luck...keep me posted.

nope I'm english only.

I know it's hard to search, but i think there are past comments in these forums a/b what kind of questions are asked.

Some people, i believe, if they had high enough scores on everything else (interviews) god the offer despite failining lang test...
as long as they didnt' think you just lied a/b being a lang speaker to get the offer.(not that anyone would do that, that's just what i heard)

Hi Rodica,

Bineinteles! Felcitari! Bine ati venit!

I think you have a great chance, especially with your (limba romana)! As you may already know, Delta is the only US airline flying direct nostop from the US to Romania. Lucky for you that you are from New York, because that is where you will be based if you are hired. With your Romanian, you will enjoy flying the Bucharest flights from JFK--and many more exotic destinations (so will your family--for free, in 1st class!) Perfect match for you! I love flying to Bucharest...the crews have so much fun there...great country & people...I love the food and music!

Bafta!
