A guy given me an interview.... while I was talking, I've noticed that he was kept making this laughing (breathing) sound 2-3 times. I didn't want to say anything that he was rude at that time because I didn't want to make him upset. I just thanked him for his patience at the end of call, but he wasn't really nice about it neither. Some odd reasons something told me in the middle of this interview he might typing something I didn't say. I don't think I've got the fair chance for this process. I've received an email saying, thanks but no thanks today. I know I have an awesome customer service experience and look. I don't know what I did wrong.. I've been study for this interview process as well... I'm just bitter because I've spent money and time, which I don't have, just to be in part of this process. I just don't feel that it's fair because of this inexperience rep was rude and didn't know what was he doing. I hope they've monitored him. Well... good luck to you all... I hope you won't get this kind of rep on your 2nd interview. |

I used to fly for American but right before they hired me I was turned down by another airline. I was upset but so thankful when American hired me. American was definitely a better fit for me. I guess I am trying to say everything happens for a reason. You will find the right airline for you. I still haven't heard anything back from Delta and I am nervous.

Can you give me some feedback about AA? How was your experience working as a f/a for them? How long is American's reserve for new hires? I'll appreciate any information you care to share. Thanks in advance! Good luck to you with Delta. |

I hear rumors they may hire this summer but I am not sure about that. They have rotating reserve - you are on reserve every other month and then you have a line every other month. After 3 years you only have to have reserve every 3 months. It's a really good system for new hires because you are not straight reserve. I hope this helps. Let me know if you need anything else and hopefully they will be hiring this summer. :) |

I've read in other aviation blogs that AA is still calling back the remainder Furloughed TWA f/a's. Once they complete this, they will start hiring from within and the outside. How long did you work for AA? How was the training? I heard that compared to other carriers, AA is pretty strict, almost military style at times, is this true? Thanks again! Have a great day! :) |

The good thing is my class didn't stay in the training center and so we stayed at a hotel. When we were away from the training center we all seemed to have a really good time. Once you get on the line, they are not intimidating. The FA's were all really nice to work with. They have a really great reserve system and are a great company so the seven weeks on eggshells is totally worth it. You are smart to get a job at the airport, then you have a foot in the door. Hopefully they will bring back the rest of the furloughs and hire soon. I do know that they still have 1,198 FA's still to recall so it may be a while. Good luck with the airport job!!! |

This sounds similar to my experience yesterday. I started with the online form, answered some questions and was told to call. I called and was given a short interview where they asked me a few questions. At the time of that call she advised me to go to the website to complete an assessment and to upload my resume. After the assessment it asked me to call to speak with a recruiter. When I did she asked many 'interview type' questions, and at the end of the call she told me congratulations, they would like me to come to ATL for a FTF. This was yesterday. But please be advised that the recruiter told me not to panic - they were backed up getting many interviews scheduled and that it could be potentially 'several weeks' (her words) before I would receive the e-mail. That's all I know! =) |

Hi everyone, Actually this sound little different then what i did, i did apply for an application on NOV, couple weeks i was called for some scenarios questions, which i wasn't prepared for, honestly i don't know how i did? Last week i received an e-mail from them telling me to call the 1-877 number to speak with the recruiter this is almost 4 months after i applied, which i did and i was told that he has duplicate application of me, but still he told me that he was gonna ask me couple questions, i did answered all of those questions and i was so nervous but i believe i did well cause i did study some books, after completing all questions, he congragulate me that i successfully pass the phone interview, and said to go back to my application fill up the online assessment, and also the online application and the last question was : Where do i prefer to fly from? i did answered so excited and thanking him for giving me the opportunity to interview, and he said i should be receiving an answer by e-mailing, does anyone have a similar story to mine? Ooooooohhhhhh and by the way i do speak a sec language and i did work for 2 Airlines as a Ground Staff.

Hi KAWTAR, You can go back a page or 2 to read about my experience - it is fairly similar to yours, although all of my steps happened within one days time. Now I am just waiting to hear back, and like I mentioned before - they told me it may be 'several weeks', and not to worry, they are very busy. Hope this helps... |

Hey guys, I haven't read EVERY one of the blog entries, but I did want to let you know what happened this week with Delta! I applied for the job online Sunday afternoon. 10 minutes after I submitted my application. Easy. After that, I called the number they gave me, and they did a short interview with me. The questions consisted of What would you do if questions. Easy. Then I did an online assessment, followed by another interview. The questions where Tell me about a time when..blah blah blah. I didn't hear anything monday (whether I did well or not), so I called on tuesday. Tuesday I was told I would be flying to ATL. I flew out thursday!! SO FAST. I was so shocked. When I got to ATL, there were about 40 people there. ALOT of people had quite a bit of airline job history under there belts. I felt anxious, because I had none. I thought, uh oh...they're going to want people with experience and training. They did a short presentation with us, interviewed each of us individually, did another Q&A session with us, called out 5 names, and the 5 were told, Welcome to Delta. I was one of the 5. I'm still shocked. None of the 5 that were picked had experience in the industry. 4 were very young (20's), and one that was in his 40's. We went on to the Delta employment office where we did background checks, fingerprinting, and drug tests. Drink lots of water!! It took me an hour to be able to use the bathroom!!! Haha... I know that the entire group is split into YES's...NO's...and MAYBE's. The maybes are told that they will/might get a call in a few weeks. Thats incase one of the 5 YES's fail one of the background/drug tests. I also know that they're only hiring language speakers right now. There were several people that were highly qualified, but because they didn't speak a second language fluently, didn't receive a job offer. Good luck! |

Delta, Northwest Announce Merger
Get Travel Ideas & Inspiration
Under the terms of the transaction, Northwest shareholders will receive 1.25 Delta shares for each Northwest share they own. The exchange ratio represents a premium to Northwest shareholders of 16.8 percent based on Monday's closing stock prices. The announcement comes a year after the two carriers emerged from Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection. Both carriers are losing money again but are in much better shape than the four much-smaller airlines that have filed for bankruptcy or gone out of business in recent weeks. The deal will need antitrust approval, and integrating the work forces of fully unionized Northwest and Delta, where pilots are currently the only major unionized work group, will be tricky. The joining of Atlanta-based Delta and Eagan, Minn.-based Northwest, if approved by regulators, will result in combined annual revenue of $31.7 billion, vaulting it ahead of Fort Worth, Texas-based AMR Corp.'s American Airlines for the top spot in the U.S. |

I had the wonderful opportunity of briefly starting Delta Flight Attendant Training, but due to a family issue I had to leave the course. I am unable to return due to the lack of training courses and I am sure the NWA merger today hasnt helped either. Flying with Delta meant evertyhing to me, and now I feel so sad

I actually interviewed today and I can honestly tell you that it was the best interview I have ever been to. The flight attendants doing the interview were all very friendly and made us feel welcome. They explained about the company and the flight attendant position. They ask some of the situation interview questions that a lot of companies ask. Thankfully they all smiled a lot which put us at ease. Unfortunately I did not get the job but it was still a great experience and I met a lot of really nice people. The best advice I can give is to relax and enjoy the interview. I wish you the best of luck and hope you are successful at your interview. :) |

Bine ati venit! I think you have a great chance, especially with your (limba romana)! As you may already know, Delta is the only US airline flying direct nostop from the US to Romania. Lucky for you that you are from New York, because that is where you will be based if you are hired. With your Romanian, you will enjoy flying the Bucharest flights from JFK--and many more exotic destinations (so will your family--for free, in 1st class!) Perfect match for you! I love flying to Bucharest...the crews have so much fun there...great country & people...I love the food and music! Bafta! |
