Bineinteles! Felcitari! Bine ati venit!

I think you have a great chance, especially with your (limba romana)! As you may already know, Delta is the only US airline flying direct nostop from the US to Romania. Lucky for you that you are from New York, because that is where you will be based if you are hired. With your Romanian, you will enjoy flying the Bucharest flights from JFK--and many more exotic destinations (so will your family--for free, in 1st class!) Perfect match for you! I love flying to Bucharest...the crews have so much fun there...great country & people...I love the food and music!

Bafta!

Delta FA in NYC,
HELP PLEASE...I am currently working and I have an interview with delta next week...my questions:
1. Any final tips for interview?
2. what day of the week training normally starts?
3. Do they provide meal vouchers during training??
4. Do they complete all your background check before training
starts??
5. when do they do the physical..the same day after the offfer or what ??
6. how much time off they give after graduation and the official start day??
7. do they provide you housing for the first few days when you get to your base or do you have to get your own place immediatley??

8. I live in surrounding area in Atlanta...can I still stay in their housing while I am in training???
because of the distance and thevy traffic which will take time away from studing time.

I am sorry to have all these questions but I have been getting nervous as the interview gets closer and also as I keep reading all it has been posted on here and it somewhat makes me worried since they are so many different stories on here.

I am also trying to make sure that I be able to give a notice to my current employer.

THANKS in advance for answering my questions and any tips you might have for me will be greatly appreciated.

Hope to hear back from you soon.
Fly Safe and ENJOY.

Hi Outgoing,

1. Be yourself. They can smell a fake from miles away!
2. So far, it has been on a Tuesday.
3. No...however, you do get paid for training
4. No...usually not...sometimes people are let go during and even after training if they found out you lied.
5. Depends how busy things are...medical/physical exam usually occurs towards end of training.
6. Depends on the schedule you bid and hold when you complete scheduling...you may have to fly right away.
7. Yes...a hotel is provided to you when you are sent to the base indoctrination period (an intro to the base/base overview.)
8. Housing is not provided to those from the surrounding Atlanta area. You have to live a certain distance from the training center to get housing provided by Delta...you can ask them if your distance qualifies for housing when you go for your interview!

Good luck on your interview new nextweek...can't wait to see you in the skies!

SK in Hilliard, Ohio said: This sounds similar to my experience yesterday. I started with the online form, answered some questions and was told to call. I called and was given a short interview where they asked me a few questions. At the time of that call she advised me to go to the website to complete an assessment and to upload my resume. After the assessment it asked me to call to speak with a recruiter. When I did she asked many 'interview type' questions, and at the end of the call she told me congratulations, they would like me to come to ATL for a FTF. This was yesterday. But please be advised that the recruiter told me not to panic - they were backed up getting many interviews scheduled and that it could be potentially 'several weeks' (her words) before I would receive the e-mail. That's all I know! =)

Hi everyone! Just went through the same process.
Applied online ... was given directions to call.
Called, did a mini-interview, and was then instructed to go back online and complete an assessment and application.
Once I completed those ... was advised to call again.
Called again and spoke with a gentleman with more specific experience questions.
Was then told "Congratulations" ... we would like to interview you in Atlanta.
Was told that someone would be contacting me (did not say via either phone or email) to finalize arrangements. (Definitely was a "whirlwind" experience)

I was not certain of the timeline that I would be hearing back... so I called back again today just to confirm how they would be contacting me and the timeline. The recruiter mentioned it may take up to a couple of weeks and it most likely would be via a phone call... (she was VERY nice ... like all the others I have talked with so far ...)

Just wanted to let everyone know ... and please keep me posted also on how you guys are doing! Am VERY excited and eager ...
: )
Best of luck to everyone.

I know right now that Delta are ONLY hiring language speakers, I heard from someone at Delta that in the future if/when Delta commence re-hiring they will only accept language speakers.

I am British living here in New York, I was on here a few days ago because I started my first few days of training in Atlanta but had to go home due to death on my wifes side of the family, now I have to re-apply.

If its true does that mean unless I am a language speaker I have no chnace with Delta when I am able to re-apply on June 11th? I am hurting so much, my class mates passed out of training 2 weeks ago, and I wish so much I had been one of them :(

Anyone who can help, please email me:
vanquishbrit@yahoo.com

Thank you and have a wonderful night

Mark

The process went really fast from phone interviews, online tests, f2f in Atlanta , job offer, language test, a call to enroll you into a class...all in 6 days.
People scout gave me two dates today...April 29 and May 13.
The question i have is: did they really complete a background check, or can they come back to you at some point and dismiss you due to the inability of reaching a previous employer?

I had three companies that I used to work for that no longer in exist. When they weren't able to verify the employer I just had to fax over either a W2 or a paystub to show proof of employment with those companies. I have heard though, of some people who lied or didn't disclose certain things about their background and it wasn't discovered until midway through training and they were let go. The employment verification, at least for me, happened within two days of the call offering me a spot in training.

However, I think the ENTIRE background check takes a little bit longer.

Hello all, I have a question, I had gotten all the way to where I was gonna schedule a date for my F2F , but i had an accident and fractured my wrist, I never got back but I'm still fully interested in going to an interview. I was wondering does anyone know if I call are they still interviewing? Will they still give me an oppurtunity? I hope so!

Was the employer they were trying to reach a RECENT employer? just wondering b/c there were a few places i worked a LONG time ago that have probably since changed their numbers, gone out of business, etc.

Hi,
I see many folks here got their FTF so i hope someone has some information about the process or has a similar situation .

I had my first phone interview 01/27/08
and heared nothing untill late April , April 29th i got my FTF interview
we were just 8 persons .. 4 males and 4 females which surprised me alot , i thought we will be much more than that number .
anyway to make a long story short all 8 of us had our interviews and every one thought he/she did just fine BUT afterall we were taken to the first room where we started and told thank you so much for your time and concern and we know that you understand that sometimes we can't give a job on the spot , but we will contact you if we need you .
all of us have been sent back home and since then i heared nothing from them .. and unfortunately i haven't got anyone's phone number to see if any of them heared something .
any explanation for that .. any one has a similar situation ?

I passed the first two phone interviews on May 1. I haven't received the phone call for the next step. I was told to be patient, but with everything going on, I am not sure I will get a phone call anytime soon. Anyone know exactly what is going on with Delta?
