I see Compass is hiring like crazy! Can anyone tell me what the pay is and how long you could expect to be on reserve. What base are the new hires going to? And does anyone currently working for them commute, and how is it(I live in the ORD area)? Thanks for any info! |

I spent a month on reserve and graduated at the end of january. As far as the bases go not to sure if everyone is still getting their first choice Minneapolis I think your guarenteed. I commute from chicago too and its getting tough less compass flights to jumpseat on and the northwest flights are all pretty full |

Justin in Chula Vista, California 4 months ago |
I'm a little worried, I graduate high school in about a month and a half and my plan is to apply for Compass right after graduation but something is kinda freaking me out, it seems like people who have gotten any traffic violation will automatically disqualify you. Is this really true? I got one about 2 months ago but I'm going to pay for it and go to driving school to get it off my driving record. I'm really worried I won't get hired b/c of this. Can someone please let me know what the truth is and if it's even worth applying. |

hey guys, i went to the open house on the 22nd, got my drug test and now i have to go for finger printing on the 28th...does this mean i have the job or not? I already gave them my resume and im wondering if its necessary to write an essay also to give on monday? I really want this job... |
|
Mike in Marysville, Ohio 4 months ago |
No essay needed, fingerprinting and drug testing means they're serious about you, I've seen people get past all the steps and get terminated for speeding/parking tickets they failed to list on their resume or something they didn't reveal or thought would matter showed up and disqualified them. Good luck though!!! |

Bleach Boy in Wherever my line takes me! said: Most good lines have 12-13 days off however there are select ones with more than that. For example, 18! (Only us very senior people get those) You can also drop and pick up stuff though to make your stays at home longer. It's pretty easy to rearrange your schedule. Hello everyone,

I just saw an ad in the paper that Compass is hosting an FA open house in the DTW area... I worked for a regional NWA carrier as an FA about 6-7 yeas ago. I quit to find a job in the field of my bachelor's degree. The article piqued my interest and I was wondering what sort of routes Compass flies? I am wondering if it be worth it to quit my job in the education field to fly again. I miss it :) |

Shannon, Compass is an amazing airline! I used to live in Davison and work for Compass right now! One of our flight attendants is actually from Lapeer! I highly recommend applying. From DTW they fly to DFW, PIT, MHT, MDW, etc. I just got off a trip tonight! E-mail me at MWard9382@charter.net. I wish you Luck! |

Hey Bleach boy, thanks for the advice. Basically this is what happened, it's 3:30, I'm going home from my high school, I made a left turn on a NO LEFT TURN sign from 7am-4pm, I didn't know the sign was there b/c for one, it was pretty small, and two, I park on the other side of campus, it was just that day, I borrowed my friend's Economics text book and I needed to return it to him. So I was at the wrong place at definately the wrong time. I learned my lesson, be on the look out for signs, especially the small ones! So I'm going to court on May 6th, I'm definately gonna pay the ticket and go to traffic school to get it off my record. Ughhhh, I'm really hoping this won't hurt my chances at all. |
|
Justin in Chula Vista, California 4 months ago |
I forgot to add, I was the previous posts and I saw that the applicant disclosed the information about his or her traffic violation and immediately, the recruiter didn't seem interested because of that. So that's why I'm freaking out. I'm graduating high school in a month and a half and I really wanna apply after the 12th of June. Just really worried now. |

While I'm waiting to hear back from Republic, I have applied with Compass. I met a very nice FA that works for Compass (hi, Joe!) and he suggested I apply. So, I did and now I'm wondering the usual questions...how long until I can expect to hear from them about scheduling an interview? |

I attended the DTW Compass Airline open house and it seemed like they fingerprinted almost every applicant (including me) after their face to face interview. What's up with that? Are all the fingerprinted people hired if they pass that & the background check? They talked like I was "in" but it just seems so quick?? |

After fingerprinting she told me that they will take about 2 weeks to get back to me...but she actually called me back in a few hours(3 to be exact) and offered me the F.A position! So good luck an di hope u get it. |

Hello Everyone, Just wanting to know the time frame in which Compass contact you if you did the application online. I know it takes a while before they will probably get to it but I was told by a friend that they are hiring like crazy right now I guess with the whole Delta/NW merger and they are suppose to be having training classes throughout the rest of this year so just wondering is anyone knows the time frame in which Compass calls and starts to set-up F2F interviews with applicants if they don't live in the area to attend a open-house. Thanks in advance guys. |

I'm thinking back to how much fun I had at training, still great friends with my classmates and that was many many months ago. Best of luck to all! Is training tough? how hard are the tests, because I already got the training packet and I'm stressing out on the terminology. |

Hi to all, I just wanted to say that I went to a Compass Airlines open house in DTW on 04/30/08 and it was very nice and relaxed the pepole are very nice and have a good sense of humor so nothing to worry about for those going to an open house. Now my question would be I also took the drug test and fingerprints and the person that interviewed me, she said that she would see me for sure next month in training but she did not give me any dates or anything and also no1 has called me yet I am kind of worried...does anyone know how long after you pass the drug testing and background check they call you???

Many of you ask, "Is the druge test and fingerprinting a good sign?" Lets put it this way, would they pay for both drug testing and fingerprinting if they didn't like you??? I wish you all the best of luck and hope to see you on line soon :-). -Sam- |

Both background checks and fingerprinting are really good signs in the airline industry as both tests are not cheap to get done. They usually like to get the process done and over with asap so they can assign people class dates. For those of you who don't get it done right away, don't sweat either, I know of people who went home sure they didn't get it because they weren't tested only to be called to schedule the testing. I was fingerprinted and drug tested the day of and got called with an offer just 24 hours after that, barely enough time for me to fly home before my phone was ringing. As far as results, those can take time! Since CPS wasn't my first airline, my background check was already done, and the company I worked for/still work for part time has random drug testing, so they were able to expedite those results too, result times vary on the lab to process the drug tests, the FBI to process the background checks, and HR to process their results, a whole slew of human factors. |

Not a problem! If you read earlier posts you see that one person was revoked becuase of information he posted. Go ahead and ask questions but make sure they are with in reason! There are just some things that not everyone needs to know :-). I will be happy to answer any questions you may have! :-) |
