I love Compass in Honolulu, Hawaii

Hey everyone, greetings from Honolulu right now, here for a couple of days. Anyways, I got my flight information this morning, my interview is scheduled for 3:30 and I'll be flying in from California. I'm so stoked! So hopefully everything will turn out good on Monday. For those of you who've been through the process, after the interview, how long did it take to finally get that "golden" phone call? Thanks!

Ok, I think we need to check ourselves on here. For those of you who are not hired, ask these questions at your interviews if you want to know anything, no one would know the answers better or be more trustworthy than HR. For those of you who work with us at CPS already, for the love of everything holy- STOP revealing info on our airline, I don't need anyone getting fired for this, all that does it ruin my seniority. Be quiet on here, do your jobs out there and if anyone on here gets hired, gets through training, gets their ID and STILL has questions, answer them THEN!

Having never had a crash pad, can anyone suggest the best place to look for crash pads in MN if I don't get the DTW base I am hoping for..?

Well, all I have to do is to break in my pumps, organize my folio and just chill out for the weekend.

Never EVER go to the beach or work on your tan before a major interview. I did that once, and I burned my legs to a crisp. It was so bad that putting on my hose was a nightmare. It was like wearing sandpaper all day long. I also hurt my knee (as I had gone excercising ) and for the day before the interview I was wearing a elastic knee brace and was praying to God I was not going to limp into my interview. Would not look good. I did fine.

So I am going to stay out of the sun and the hiking trails but just go to the hair dresser!

I don't think you'll need to worry about your seniority being affected here. No hires beneath you are going to be fired unless they're revealing sensitive security information. Crash pads, commutes, & reserve guarantees don't fit that bill & really don't reveal anything about the airline that isn't common to any other carrier. Let people ask questions. We all like to know about jobs we are interested in, no matter the position or career. There may be some little bit of general information that keeps someone from wasting his/her time applying & interviewing if the aspects of the job don't fit. Conversely, someone on the fence may really decide to apply, for what they are learning here, & if they're hired, that's a boost for your seniority.

Bleach Boy in Mifflinburg, Pennsylvania said: Commuting means you can still live in St Louis then fly to Minneapolis on the days you are supposed to work. There are something called Crashpads (pilots & flight attendants) who have a room maybe at a house that they rent for 100 - 200 bucks a month that are normally very close to the airport. This way when you are in Minneapolis you have a cheap place to stay then you can fly home (for free) to St Louis.

Bleach Boy or anyone else who is working for Compass-Is reserve on 3 days and off 4 days or on 4 days and off 3 or 5 days in a row? How much is starting salary and per-dium? Where can I find a simple route map for Compass or airport codes would do. Want to see where they fly that you need a passport. That sounds exciting. What % is needed to pass tests, retakes? Most importantly when and where is the next open house? Looked on Career.com but open house I saw had expired I have looked for all the info I have just asked about but am not finding it. Also, how many people sit reserve? If you're in the last class they train, would you be sitting reserve for a very long time untiol they hire more people or do they rotate reserve? It didn't sound like it from a previous post. The company sounds great. Would very much appreciate someone answering these questions.

There's alot of Q & A going on here that is beyond the scope of this forum. Every airline has their own terminology. You are better off to wait till you get your study package from the airline you are training at.
Here are some links to find some of the answers to your questions.
www.compassairline.com/
en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Compass_Airlines_(North_Am...
There is no telling who is monitoring these sites NO PERSONAL info.
If you worked at another airline it's best to forget it, Compass will train you the Compass way. It's best not to get confused.
Seniority is a great thing when your moving up. I would be cautious of any one who is so focused on seniority before they are even hired. They generally are not team players. If your slightly above them in seniority, they just as soon get you fired instead of working with you as a team player, so they can move up. Because this is what drives them.

No one is disputing that each airline has its own terminology, policies, & training program. I honestly don't think that anyone is trying to ask what the content of the training is, but rather the general working conditions pertaining to scheduling & commuting, which is what anyone should be concerned with when deciding on making a rather deep career choice that may affect other areas of their lives, such as family & relocating. I haven't read anyone asking about evacuation procedures, ditching exercises, emergency equipment locations, or even crew meals. The one thing that each commercial carrier does share, however, are FARs. Those regs dictate scheduling, therefore, I think anyone has the right to ask that now before undergoing training at any airline.

Personally, I don't believe that those of us who come from other airlines are interested in reviving our training from other airlines at Compass. That's just surefire failure & a lot like trying to install Windows XP on a MacBook. However, we still come from that industry perspective & share the experiences unique to flight crew members, & we can't help but compare. I'm thrilled at the prospect of being trained in a new "way" & starting fresh, but I can't just forget where I'm coming from. It's that experience that's driving me to go back to flying.

Having seniority concerns for the sake of holding decent schedules & commutes shouldn't be misconstrued as not being a team player. Yes, there are those consumed with it; however, in my experience, I found them to already be quite senior & only concerned about seniority for bidding cabin positions. I'm not sure it's fair to generalize this point. In this day of flying, just respect your job & don't do anything to jeopardize it, & you'll have no worries about being fired legitimately or vindictively by someone trying to attain seniority. In 10 years, though, I'd never even heard a rumor of a junior FA getting a senior FA fired, unless in the wake of a nasty merger

What info shared about Compass has been inappropriate? Everything that I have posted/shared would have been shared/answered at one of our open houses. :)

That is completely true! And those of you who have been so kind to answer these benign questions are only proving to be valuable assets to the company by offering your assistance. It's kind of a cornerstone of being a flight attendant.

Thank you, iaoh, for answering my questions!

I applied with Compass on line at the end of April. My status is listed as submitted for requisition. From what I have been reading here, it seems as though I should have been contacted by now to interview. Should I just assume that they aren't interested in me and give up? There hasn't been an open session near me that I could attend so I really need to hear from them if I have a prayer of being hired. Any advice is greatly appreciated.

How long ago did you apply? I applied on June 9 and was sent for DOT testing. I was told by the recruiter that I would be sent to HDQ for fingerprinting. I understand it would be 4 to 6 weeks. Is that how long it took for you?

Thanks for the reply, and congrats to you!!! I applied with Compass online at the end of May (I keep hoping for an open house in MSP soon), but haven't heard anything yet... 'Still hoping I'm not in the "discard" pile!

I applied with compass online mid of may but when i saw the Open house in DTW, decided to attend anyway. My online application still states "submitted for requisition' kinda slower when you do it online. I think Open House is the way to go.

I applied online back in April. And I recieved a call 1 week before the open house in Phx on June 10th/11th. I went to the Interview on the 11th. And, just this past Thursday I got a call for a scheduled training date for the August class. So, I guess it just varies how quick they respond to you. I am very impressed with Compass Airlines. And, look foward to meeting and working with the current F/A's on line . I like when I hear good things about an airline and it's employees. It make the transition and relocation easier. I will be bidding for the "Memphis" base and will be relocating from Scottsdale,AZ...Good Luck to all!

As long as you are within your legalities (FAA) & you have a line (schedule holder); you can pick up as many trips that are available / you can handle. I'm not aware of a cap on max hours.

Hello and thanks for the answer but I worked for another regional airline and they had a 100hr max in a month so we couldnt go over 100hrs in a month and I was wondering if Compass does the same thing.
