Certain airlines have minimum and maximum height requirements (such as 5'2" - 6'), others simply need you to be able to pass a "reach test", so they know you'll be able to close the overhead bins. Generally, in this case, you should be able to reach 80 vertical inches, with your heels on. It really depends on the carrier's policy and their fleet as to whether or not you would qualify based on height to be a FA. Word of advice: don't lie about your height. If you say you meet the minimum height req. before meeting the airline face-to-face, they will dismiss you right away if you are not tall enough or can't reach high enough. That would be just a big waste of their time and yours. |

There are flight attendants about 5 feet tall. They have long arms and thus were able to pass the minimum arm-reach test. The reason why airlines impose a "height" requirement is that flight attendants need to be able to reach the overhead bin in order to retrieve emergency equipment with ease. The height requirement varies between airlines as they have different fleets. Go to the website of airline of interest and see what their height/arm-reach requirement is. kim in United Kingdom said: hello |
