Guys..congrats to those who made it..I did receive an email from megan today, inviting me to the drug test..but i also have a management offer with macys...thanks sassy for your kind thoughts...yes i love to fly again...but for me to move out there and spent big..at this stage in my life..is tough..it would be different if lodging and some allowances was provided for those who r out of town.
But for me it was good enough to experience this with u guys...and i'm glad VA was upfront about their company and expectations of us...Congrats jessica and the others who were selected...u guys are going to do awesome...training is where the fun begins!
The others..have faith..now i'm giving away my spot..i'm sure there is chances for u guys too! Troy..don't give up! They will email you soon ok!

I was with the April 10th group..if i'm not mistaken..they did mention everyone will be notified within 2 weeks tops..whether u get it in or not..they will email everyone:)

I did hear and I was asked to take the drug test. I still need to fill out my application. I sent Megan an email letting her know that I live in Fresno. They are going to FedEx the drug testing package so I can take it here. I am so excited. And now I'm worried about finding a place to stay during training and then a crash pad once we start flying. I am envisioning all of us together in training, everyone keep the faith. Sassie

Well now. I am considering going to interview at the end of this month with VX. I currently work for NK *Spirit* here in Florida. I will probably hold a line next month here, but I am anxious to get on with VX. I lived in SF in '01, so i'm familiar with the city, just don't know if I can afford the move from Orlando to the Bay Area. I have flight benefits, so flying out to the interview is no problem, we even just got a reciprocal with VX. Anywho! It's good to read all about VX on here. I hope to see some of you at the interview session later on this month! Good luck to everyone!

Wow--a blog spot for VX flight attendant hopefuls! I got a couple of emails myself sometime around this afternoon regarding the drug test and verification stuff--funny how one email mentioned that after the tests clear, they will make it official (the offer, I assume) with a letter in the mail. I'm guessing I probably bumped into some of you guys at the April 10th interviews in Burlingame--Ceasar, I'm sure glad to see you on here! This is BONES! I ran into your friend, Robert, in Seattle by the way. Tell him congratulations about the Alaska Airlines gig--'heard he made it. I had to turn it down for several reasons. Well, gotta run to work and milk the hell out of nursing while I still can! Best of luck, guys!

I am hoping that everyone who has heard back today is from the 4/10 group interview. Like everyone else, I am in knots waiting to hear back. I am worried that my references might be a little hard to reach since they rarely answer their phones directly. Do any of you know if they have called your personal/professional references?

Did anyone else receive an invite to interview on April 28th or May 1st?

Kim, Verification Inc. does the background check for Virgin America and they have their own ways of contacting references, previous work and etc so don't worry about it. If there's any issues they will talk to you about it. :)

two people from my group interview on teh 11th of April got the email for their drug test. ONe has to bush back the day to do prevoiuos commitement.
How long have somewaited beofe hering from VA. Hope is will be soon.

Yes, I did, got it from Labrian at 5pm. Sent an email saying that I was there on Friday the 11th. Hopeing it was mis-emialing that one and hopeuflly would have been to drug test letteer.

Will call them in the morning to find out if it was a snafu.

Michelle, it's business casual, don't show up in a suit (and for the guys, suit and tie is not recommended unless you roll up your sleeve to make it more casual). Training is about a month, 4 weeks.

Sassie, It's not cheap to live in the Bay area, gas price here has topped 4 dollars in all grades of gas (I havn't felt the pinch yet since I'm driving around my new Smart car that looks like a cow =P www.littodevil.com/pictures/littosmart/index.html ) But lets just say... a 2 room apartment close by is around 1225 a month. Burlingame area is more of an upscale area but of course there are other areas that's still relatively close by that is less expensive and.. well "expensive" really depends on person to person.

Eat?! A LOT OF PLACES TO EAT!!! haha.. I'll show you around and take you out to eat when your here! xD My treat!

I don't want to get in trouble for answering too much questions regarding training but dress code is basically business casual like the interview. Think of it as.. "dress to impress" but... your not at the beach so ... no sexy mini skirt and high heels with bare tanned legs =P... Sexy but.. not appropriate for training :) There are days where you can be more casual but most of the time it's pretty much business casual.

Of course, like some people they spend their whole income from their training to pay for a place to stay and.. well some airlines will pay for your housing but not for anything else, VA will pay for your training but everything else is up to you, so in the end it all comes out the same one way or another depending on how you think of it.
