Yaaaay! I just got home and saw that I got the same email about the drug test! I was in the April 11th interview, which means it was just ONE working day for them to get back to me! Amazing!!!

I haven't heard yet, but I know my references weren't available yesterday so I expect that is part of the wait...good that they are trying to reach them!

Kim, Verification Inc. does the background check for Virgin America and they have their own ways of contacting references, previous work and etc so don't worry about it. If there's any issues they will talk to you about it. :)

Hi Troy just wanted to let you know that I have not received the email either. However, this morning I received a call from SkyWest Airlines where I had already been offered a position, but they put a freeze on the training classes in Feb. Well they called to offer me the training on May 13th. So if I don't hear back from VA I will accept this offer. I truly would love the VA position but if not then I will be moving on. So just relax honey because you are just a doll and they will be sending you an offer in my opinion. And again Congrats to all who have moved on to the next stage of your journey to the training.

Did anyone else attend the March 27th interview. They said we would hear from them by April 15th. Did they mean, only if they wanted us to take the drug test? I has hoping to hear whether or not i would be in the May 5th training. I am going crazy. I am egar to start moving forward with plans to relocate from NYC. Not to mention give my employer a 2 week notice. Can anyone shed some light on how much notice they give us before training?

just got home from the drug test. to those of you who also going to the drug test, etc. they already started background checks as my current employer was called today. they asked him 4 questions- dates of employment, pay rate, rating on a scale from poor-average-above average-outstanding employee, and 1 more thing i can't remember. so if you need to let your references know to answer their phones now would be a good time.

everyone still waiting for the email- i have been thinking about you guys a lot today. i really do hope they don't keep you waiting any longer!

flora- i got hired with skywest also and have heard a lot of good things about them (should you end up there that is!).

Did they say if you get paid during training?

You do get paid a pro-rated amount during training. They do not provide you room or board, so you need to find a place to live and you will also need to feed yourself.

Yes!!! You do get paid for your training... But, they don't pay for a place to stay. That you will need to take care of on your own.

I know of someone that has two SMALL Apartments for rent in Oakland one block from the BART. I think that the rent is around $700. Not bad!!! But it is Small. But it is located by some great restaurants that you can walk to.

Congrats to all that have made it!!! I hope that I will hear something soon. This is just killing me!!!

Stacey, I will have to keep that in mind. Still waiting, but will have to find a place to live with some roommates that will not be terribly expensive. Still have rent in new york to pay and phone and computer. Let me know where it is and I can start some reseach this way.

We are all going to need a place to stay, so if anybody has any ideas let us know. Does anyone know of any web sites they have visited? Did anyone get any information for Doreen at the interview? I know she mentioned that they had some good prices from hotels. I am hoping we can rally and find something affordable.

I happen to know that my landlord is expecting to have a place come available soon (happens to be next door to me)...if anyone is actually looking to relocate I can check into it more for you. For now here are the basics: 1 bedroom, 1 bath, with small private yard in Emeryville. Sits right in between West Oakland BART and MacArthur BART (i happen to drive to macarthur everyday to commute to the city, but if you will be without car there is public transit that would get you there in about 10-15 mins). He is looking to get $950/month for. If he asks the same for move in that he did for me it would be first, last and $500 deposit (he's really cool and will let you break the deposit up if you need to). If anyone is intrested let me know and I look into it more for you.

yeah they called me back sometime last week... right before i was going up for the VA interview... so i was like yeah might as well accept Cathay Pacific since ill be based out at LAX... so any news yet???
