Delila in New York, New York said: Can anyone tell me what kinds of questions they ask during a Virgin America Interview??? I'm interviewing for a CSA position but any tips would help even if you interviewed for another position..Also they told me it would be a group interview so if anyone has an experinece to share I would appreciate it..I just want to get a little insight on what to expect It's not so much about the questions, just be yourself and show them who you truly are, don't be fake :) SFDenver in Highlands Ranch, Colorado said: Here's a question for those that are currently FA's. When determining position left or right on the plane, which way would you be facing-aft or forward? Trying to learn some of the lingo and terminology. You mean aircraft left or right? You could be on aircraft left and be seated forward facing and aft facing, it just depends on which jump seat your sitting on. On our A320's and A319 there are 4 jump seats. Two in the front, two in the rear. If your sitting in the front your obviously facing aft and if your sitting in the aft jump seats your facing forward :) There are jump seats on aircraft left and right, no surprise there. In training they will teach you all that you'll need to know :) Sara D. in Rancho Cordova, California said: I haven't heard anything either. I too am so sad. At this point I think I didn't get it. :( Sara, It's only been a week :) Don't give up until you get an actual notice from them. |

D-Trick in San Jose, California said: Hey everyone, I'm new to this forum/discussion, and want to say everything I've read has been so informative! Thanks so much! So I applied for the flight attendant (IfTM, whatever) position 2 days ago and yesterday I took the online assessment. I never received a phone call from Megan, as her e-mail said to let her know which interview session I wanted to attend. Is that normal? I'm now scheduled for the interview tomorrow, and I'm so excited! Can someone tell me what to expect? Any help would be great! Thanks. Good luck on your interview, be yourself, be happy and excited! Don't think of it as an interview but think of it as a fun opportunity. =) JWomack in San Diego, California said: Is there anyone on here who recently applied and waited weeks before hearing from anyone?? True, but you have to understand that in reality, as with any job, the company doesn't really get a chance to see how "friendly/outgoing" you are until the interview comes around. And with so many applicants, I personally believe some of it is luck and some of it has to do with your cover letter / resume like with any job. :) FLyygirl in Fort Lauderdale, Florida said: hello everyone! Congrats! Not sure, depends on their workload :) |

Darion in Seattle, Washington said: Hello Virgin America fans and crew. I read the first part of the forum (interesting) then skipped to the last page. Forgive me if I missed anything applicable to my question. I am not interested in being a FA but I am very interested in being an Airport Team Member with the opportunity to transfer to LAX at some point in the future. I love the fact that this job position covers everything, and you don't have the implied hierarchy which other job descriptions imply: Cabin cleaner and ramp agent vs. customer service and guest relations for example. I became interested in working for an airline/airport only for the flight benefits. I have made more money and have much more experience doing other trades for sure. I stopped looking and caring about any other airline once I discovered VA was hiring. Yes, they sound like they intend to be truly special. As a GST (Guest Service Teammate) you wear different hats which means you get to be in different positions at the airport. One of my friend recently got hired as a GST at Las Vegas and she's loving her job! I told her about VA, 2 weeks later she got hired before I even got to summit my resume! As a VA team member and even prior to working at VA, I have to say I love the VA airport team members. They are special, very special as with all of our other team mates. Most importantly you are the front line, the start of the whole guest experience since you will be interacting with the guest and given the oppounitity to start off their trip with a wonderful memorable experience. You can't please everyone but you can always try :) My rapport with the GST as a guest was great, especially with the JFK team as I was flying there most of the time for business, now as an In Flight for VA, it's even better :) |

Yes I am here but I am fairly busy, with VA (my new life style and experience) and my own business :) so I apologize. SFDenver in Highlands Ranch, Colorado said: I second Sherry's good wishes! Good success to you all, and let us know when you get at chance how it is going! Hey =) We all graduated last week and exhausted... I came to Virgin America with so much energy, passion and excitement but most importantly I was looking for a new life style, new experience and love people! From the time I got invited to the interview, thru the fun and unique interview process, waiting to hear back, going thru training and finally graduating; all I have to say is... It was a blast! The people at the HQ at Virgin America, our trainers, and my team mates in my class all made my time there a great unforgettable once in a life time experience. I am sure others in my class of 03-08 also felt the same way. I have them all to thank as we all came to Virgin America for various reasons and we all come from different backgrounds. I personally came for the passion, life style & experience and it was exactly what I got. Flying for the first time, the crew on my flight continued that same positive energy & fun that I've seen as a guest on Virgin America in the past. All I can say is, I'm glad to be here, ambitious and glad to be part of a wonderful team and I wish all of you the best of luck thru every process of the interview, training and experience when you fly. :) Cheers!

Business Casual can mean a lot of things to a lot of different people...don't want to be too conservative, but at the same time don't want to blow them away by looking too FUNKY either! Wear whatever shows your true self but also toward the "smart casual", "business casual", "stepped up casual" area. :) And I would love to fly with you someday too! Thank you but I think you give me too much credit and flatter me too much. =) Anyways best of luck to you! |

I interviewed yesterday and got my e-mail this afternoon to move on! Now all I have to do is take the drug test tomorrow at SFO, and pending everything working out (don't know why it shouldn't) I'll be in the May 27th training class! Anyone here the same as me??? Let me know so we can get to know each other! |

D-Trick - Congrats! Did you receive a telephone call because at the interview on 5/6 I was told we would be called within a few days. I have not received a call yet, though. Am hoping for one.
Does anyone else have any news yet? Waiting patiently in Mission Viejo to know if I am Virgin enough! |

Just waiting on my final email with the all clear! :) Hi there! Quick question. I just interviewed 5/6 and got the go ahead 5/8 for Drug Screen and to complete the Verifications application online. I have e-mailed Megan about finding a closer location and am waiting for a fedex packet with the paperwork. I haven't heard back and am worried that I am missing the 2 day requirement - I live 100 miles South of SFO. Any suggestions on how long it took to receive your FedEx packet and if you did the drug test w/in 2 days of notification? Thanks! I want to have everything done for a May 27 Training date! |

I didn't receive my fedex package until a week later. I took the drug test the same day. I sent Megan 2 emails just gently reminding her that I had not received it yet. You can imagine that they are slammed right now, especially with the implemenation of a new applicant tracking system. |

Tiffany in Los Gatos, California 6 months ago |
I hate to say it but I don't think my name can be added to the 5/27 roll call. I haven't recieved anything either way. I was in the 5/1 interview. I dont know what is going on. My friend went to the 4/27 interview and was told to take the drug test so he could start the 5/1 class. They gave him the homestudy and everything. He never heard back from them again with confirmation or anything. He can't get a hold of anyone. We know he passed the drug test. His girlfriend went to the 5/1 interview with me and got the notification to tak the drug test and another one of our friends and myself have heard nothing either way. The more time goes by the more I think that I have not been selected. I can deal with that i just wish they would let me know either way you know?? |

Regarding the Roll Call, I think it is nice to have initial introductions before we get started in training. It also helps to get set up with a roommate in training and get settled in ready to work hard -- and have fun. I am really excited about VA and look forward to getting started. |

I think it is great that you all have made it to training. I interviewed on May 1st and have heard nothing.. I am a retiring teacher with loads of experience working with people. I think someone out there is jealous. Just be proud of yourselves for making it to training!!! You are part of a team now... So let the list of the new team begin!!!! Congrads!!!! |

Tiffany in Seattle, Washington said: Ok now Im freaking out because people in my interview (May 1) have recieved the email for drug testing and I only have recieved the email about the new system and to re-apply. REALLY REALLY REALLY want VA. Went to Alaska interview today and got turned away then got a call on my cell an hour later and they said it was a misunderstanding and they meant to keep me for an interview. Weird. Soooooo now I go back tomarrow and all I keep thinking about is VA!!!!! OMG so stressful. Hi Tiffany, As far as I know, people for the May 27th class have not yet heard the results of the background or the drug tests. Have you done the drug testing yet? Monday is two weeks prior to class start so I would expect that we should hear by Monday sometime. I am right there with you, strongly desiring that final offer letter. The roll call I started is just to get a record of who has moved forward so we can know who each other is. It is not meant to be hurtful to those that have not yet heard back about moving forward. I hope everyone that is waiting to hear will get positive news about moving forward. Good luck to all!!! |

Actually I never received a phone call... in fact the only time I spoke with anyone over the phone (Megan) was when I had a question about the background check application. All communication has been through e-mail since then. I'm not a for sure for the May 27th class, but then again my continuation e-mail says: "A letter will be sent to you via email if you successfully pass background and drug screening." Which I KNOW I won't fail. But still it's better with the actual official notice of my acceptance/hiring into the May 27th class. I'm glad I'm Virgin enough and I'm absolutely STOKED!!! |
