I would strongly advise making a reservation in advance... the shuttle fills up fast.... I know, I have used the JFK-EWR shuttle a few times and they always fill up because of flight delays. You'll want a reservation so they hold a spot for you.
And remember to get your confirmation number from the call center as proof.
this is NYC... have to cross the T's and dot the I's with every thing. :)

Good morning, PILOT! Yes, I'm coming in on the 4th. Arriving around 8-9pm. I found a very reasonable hotel 2-3 miles from the interview site. It's close to 70 bucks, with tax and all. :-)

malti in HHI, South Carolina said: Hi Maria, I believe Natasha is arriving on the 4th in the evening..after dinner time... and has a hotel booked in the area of where the interviews will be held.

If you book a flight into LGA.. there is a shuttle service..between the 3 airports of the NYC area. You'll be able to take a shuttle service from LGA to EWR.
I would suggest booking the reservation for the shuttle service from LGA to EWR in advance so that you have a spot on the shuttle. Just as a precaution..

If you would like, I can make some calls tomorrow and find out the shuttle names that run between the two airports.
I am here in NJ right now.. so it wouldn't be any trouble. :)

You are just way too sweet, MALTI! I adore you!!!!!!!! :-)

Also, when you check for hotels...
look along HWY Route 1. That's where most of the hotels are located... and they are in the area of the interview hotel.

I will email you with the shuttle info tomorrow. :)

MALTI, the Econo-Lodge, is that an okay hotel? I hope so! It sounded fine and the price can't be beat, compared to the close to $200 for the Hilton...
I just hope it's not a flea bag........nah, no way it would be, right?...LOL

Hi All! I am currently working on my online application for Open Skies. My concern is that my passport is expired (but I will be in possesion of the renewed one in a week or two). Did anyone get an interview after checking "no" to the valid passport question? I'm thinking maybe I shouldn't even bother submitting the app until I get the new passport, but it seems like the sooner I get "in line" for an interview the better. Does anyone have an opinion on this? Thanks in advance for any help with making this decision.

I would answer yes to the question to get it in the system. You can go back and edit later.

Thank you for looking for me. You are so sweet!:-) I just got back from work. I've been super busy. I was trying to catch up with 100 postings here...
Anyway, I wanted to contact you because I don't think I'm going to make to my interview with OS on Tuesday. Something came up with my family and they need me here...I'm going to try and contact OS recruiting staff to see if they can help me reschedule. If I make it I'll look for your name on Interview and introduce myself. I also applied for JetBlue so I hope it works out one way or another. I'll keep you guys posted. Hope to see NYCgirl, Malti, Pilot and you soon! If I don't make it, I wish you guys good luck!

I got arrested in the state of Wyoming (WORST state to ever get a speeding ticket in) for going 26 mph over the speed limit on a coast to coast road trip (west coast to east coast in 38 hours) and I got arrested and thrown in jail.. appeared in front of a judge the next morning.. served 2 days in jail, paid bail and left.. now I think I got a criminal record.. -__-... is that considered a conviction that I would have to put down or... is that really just a driving infraction? xP...

I live in california but also have a place in old bridge new jersey.. I'm on the page where it ask for my education and... yea.. hehe..

Ok I have been asked to select an interview date for OS. Gosh that was surprising since I only submitted application last night...Anyway, since they do not pay for travel, and it will cost me over $500 in air fare alone can anyone give me information as to how they pay, whether or not you can commute from ATL, what airlines we can fly on, or any other info which may help me decide whether or not to pay for this trip to lovely Newark...

I agree. I don't have copies of my HS diploma or my College diploma or anything besides my passport and my license. I mean really, they have to perform the background check. what else do you bring?

David in Chandler, Arizona said: Gwash,

Yes you are correct- It was unique in many aspects. Have you signed up for an interview date yet? What is favorable, I believe, is that the communication I received indicated that you would be meeting with someone in a 'getting to know you' format. This is an encouraging, more intimate format than the group 'stand-up' scenario.

Good to hear from you.

David,
I assume you are the David who was offered training. If so, first off way to go...Secondly, can you tell me anything about the benefits, wages and general info about OS? Do they allow you to commute? I live in Atlanta and I will not be relocating but happy to commute if, in fact, they have flying privledges on airlines that will allow me to do so. I had to back away from Eos because they only fly JetBlue and JB is not here in Atlanta. I don't want to spend the cash on traveling there and staying two nights in a hotel to discover that I cannot commute. Good luck to you and if you have time please respond with any info you may have. Thanks

I also found out for you that British Air is a codeshare partner with American Airlines. That doesn't necessarily mean that OS will share the same benefits, or that employees have flight benefits on that airline, but it's a possibility that may help you out.

Hello,

I asked the question regarding OS plans of having any reciprocal agreements with any domestic carriers for commuting and the answer was no. They are based out of the New York area, therefore, my understanding is that as of this time, you would be responsible for any travel to that starting point. Staff travel prvileges start after 6 months for any route that British Airways flys. I do not know as of now if this includes their Codeshare Partners. (American and Qantas)

If I can help you with anything else, please let me know. Good fortune to you.

Regarding the MaxJet people- are you referring to an e-mail that was sent out?
On the interview session: Yes, it was a 45-50 minute 2-1 session of numerous questions. I was fairly well spent at the end of it.
