Hey David, nothing to add to hiring process yet but have been invited to interview. The application itself is "quite" different than the usual.

Yes you are correct- It was unique in many aspects. Have you signed up for an interview date yet? What is favorable, I believe, is that the communication I received indicated that you would be meeting with someone in a 'getting to know you' format. This is an encouraging, more intimate format than the group 'stand-up' scenario.

Thank you Natasha. I am hoping the same. Everything I can find behind the inspiration for ceating the airline is impressive. The director of the airline, who created the Blog on the company website, has shown that he truly wants to have open and direct dialogue with his customers.

Yes, I, too, found the blog interesting. It shows a certain openness and willingness to communicate on the part of the director. What's attractive about OS is the fact that it's brand new, it would be great to be a part of this airline's new start.

Do they provide Flight to interview?

I doubt it as they do not have domestic flights, but I could be wrong. I think this is why they only advertised in the NY area. I will use my AA miles to fly in and stay at a Newark hotel. You could ask them about flights after you have signed up for a selection event at the Newark Airport Hilton. Just a suggestion

I was invited to a selection event but I will be overseas for all dates. I've asked OpenSkies to alert me if any dates become available after Feb 18. They mentioned possibly end Feb. Should anyone hear anything about more selection dates planned I'd really appreciate a heads up on this board as I need to book my flight to EWR and hotel. I'll be checking this board while I'm away. Yes, I'll be 45 on Wednesday!! I was invited but need to re schedule as I'll be overseas until Feb 18. This will be a premium airline so my guess is that age and experience will count for a lot. Good Luck!!

I doubt it very much as they only advertised the job in the Northeast. They would have to pay for flights on domestic US carriers and I cannot see them doing that. I'm using my miles to fly to EWR from the West Coast. Most airlines will fly you in if they have flight out of your city of residence if it's an open call and not a specific geographical area. OpenSkies mention in their ad that they are hiring in in the NY area.

MALTI and DAVID, I came home to a wonderful email invite from OS to attend an interview. On the site where you pick your day and time, there's something about a method of payment. I didn't go any further. What payment are they talking about? I'm assuming you guys had to do the same to book your date and time, so I'm hoping you can enlighten me? Thanks much!!!! :-)

I am staying at the Hilton where the interview session is, however, I am paying separately. I signed up for the Jan 31, 8:30 spot. It will be great that you will be interviewing with OS also. LOL...I can't keep up with all these forums! I'm going back and forth but keep missing you guys, that's so funny! Yes, I'm excited about the interview. I'm wondering if I should do it sooner than later? I'd probably want the 10:30 time, I'm not a morning person...hehehehe

I would have booked the 31th with you guys... but I have the Republic interview in Indy on the 30th and my flight back is space available only.
Its possible I may be bumped off my return flight home.. and will have to spend the night in ORD..
Soooo, I am currently booked on the 5th for my 15 minutes and hopefully will spend the day to learn more about the company.
FABOULOUS: It appears the training for OS will commence sometime end March early April?
That will give you time to attend training with Delta and let the merger stuff play out. If the merger ends up not being good for the new-hires.. you'll have time to get on with OS.. hopefully. :)

I'm kinda excited about this OS deal.

I think it could be something great in the making.
I'm trying to stay excited about EOS..
but I already know that I could walk in there looking like a Ford model and still not get to the second level.

Someone should really write a book on all these experiences!

So, DAVID and FAB are going the 31st, MALTI and NYCGIRL the 5th. Are you guys spending the night before in a hotel, (DAVID, I know, is) or coming in the same day and leaving the same day? I'm thinking--between the flight cost and the hotel cost for a 15 minute maybe-offer is tantamount to me being in Vegas at the crap table...and I don't know how to play craps, therefore I lose my money! lol
